Overview:
An ultra-private, returning UHNW principal is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Butler with strong household and staff management experience to oversee operations across two luxury residences—one on the East Coast and one on the West Coast. Our client is a practical businessman, single and dating, with grown children.
This is a unique hybrid role that combines the refined service of a traditional butler/valet with the organizational leadership of a seasoned household manager. The ideal candidate has a youthful energy, polished presence, and a five-star hospitality mindset. You’ll lead by example, setting the tone for service, structure, and consistency while remaining discreet, calm, and proactive in anticipating the principal’s needs. Must have an eye for detail, communicate clearly and be very tech-savvy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Split time between East and West Coast residences, maintaining elevated service and consistency in both locations.
- Provide hands-on butler service: wardrobe care, guest hosting, formal service, and travel logistics.
- Oversee household operations and act as liaison between the principal and staff, vendors, and estate teams.
- Lead, train, and inspire household staff in hospitality etiquette, daily service, and operational standards.
- Maintain and refine household manuals, SOPs, and digital systems to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
- Partner with existing estate managers on scheduling, staffing, event prep, and general oversight.
- Manage wardrobe inventory and seasonal rotation of clothing between homes.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and interior designers on property projects and upgrades.
- Handle vendor communications, contract negotiation, and maintenance scheduling.
- Work with the family office on budgeting, P&L review, and household expense tracking.
- Ensure smart home systems, mechanical infrastructure, and service records are up-to-date.
- Support future real estate acquisitions and long-term household planning.
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 5 years in a private home or estate role with clear longevity and stellar references.
- Background in luxury hospitality, private butler service, or high-end estate operations.
- Confident leading and mentoring household teams to uphold impeccable service standards.
- Graceful under pressure, discreet by nature, and comfortable in both formal and semi-formal homes.
- Technologically fluent (Microsoft Office, Apple, smart home systems like Savant/Crestron).
- Highly organized with excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Knowledgeable in wardrobe care, formal table settings, and travel packing.
- Able to read construction documents and work alongside interior design and build professionals.
- Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
- Should be able to lead a team of housekeepers and elevate service standards. White Glove experience is highly advantageous.
Additional Details:
- Full-time, year-round salaried position with generous compensation based on experience.
- Frequent travel between both residences required; all travel covered.
- No yacht or international property responsibilities.
