A wonderful senior couple in their 60s is looking for a seasonal live-in chef to cook for them and their family. This position is a 1-month commitment and they are looking to hire immediately.
The couple's primary home is in Columbus, a functioning hunting lodge in Columbus, GA, an hour outside Atlanta. Additionally, the couple also owns an apartment in Buckhead, Atlanta. The Chef may be required to travel to Atlanta from time to time. All housing and travel expenses will be covered when visiting Buckhead.
The couple is semi-formal, and understanding boundaries and the Southern culture/way of life would be essential to be successful in this position.
The family is well-traveled and has a diverse palate, ranging from family-style fare: fried chicken, okra, corn casserole, to Asian fusion. The Chef must also be comfortable preparing wild game, including venison and quail, among other wild game available on their stocked farm.
The position is five days a week, Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to cover some weekends. The chef is responsible for lunch and dinner. Food should be prepared and labeled for the couple on the Chef's days off.
A hands-on chef would be ideal, someone who enjoys country living and is willing to lend a hand, get involved in the farm, and share their knowledge to improve standards and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- All F & B service
- Stocking residence kitchen and pantries
- Inventory management
- All aspects of hygiene
- Food preparation and service for small informal groups
- Must be detailed and creative
Additional Notes
- Immediate start for skilled candidates.
- Possible relocation for out-of-state experienced chefs.
- A professional, or a capable couple who have excellent cooking skills would be welcomed. A different financial package would be available for a couple.
Requirements
- Must have at least four years of experience working as a Chef or Private Chef, and have excellent, verifiable references to apply.
- Must pass a detailed background check and have a clean driving license.
- Must be vaccinated.
- Accredited culinary degree or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a portfolio of work to share with our client.
