A wonderful family in the Hamptons is seeking an experienced Temporary Summer Private Chef to join them as soon as possible through the end of August.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented, service-minded chef who enjoys the energy of the Hamptons summer season and takes pride in preparing beautiful, fresh, seasonal cuisine in a relaxed, family-centric environment.
Private live-in accommodations are provided on the estate, offering a comfortable and private living arrangement throughout the engagement.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare three fresh, high-quality meals daily for the family and their guests.
  • Cook for approximately 4–5 family members Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to prepare buffet-style lunches, dinners, or summer gatherings for up to 20 guests on occasion.
  • Source the finest seasonal ingredients, with a preference for chefs who are familiar with the Hamptons food scene and have established relationships with local farm stands, fish markets, specialty vendors, and artisanal producers.
  • Create varied menus featuring traditional American cuisine together with European, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Asian influences.
  • Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and well-managed kitchen.
  • Provision, shop, maintain kitchen inventories, and ensure the kitchen is fully stocked at all times.
  • Work closely with the family to accommodate preferences, dietary requests, and entertaining.

The household has a relaxed atmosphere, and friends and extended family frequently stop by throughout the day, so the chef should be comfortable engaging with guests and becoming a positive presence within the home.
The ideal chef will be equally comfortable preparing healthy breakfasts, casual lunches, poolside snacks, and relaxed family dinners, while also transitioning seamlessly into elevated weekend entertaining with beautifully presented hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and refined dinners when the occasion calls for it.
The family also has dogs, so applicants must genuinely enjoy being around pets and be comfortable working in a dog-friendly household.
Schedule
  • Immediate start.

Requirements
  • Extensive private household or luxury hospitality culinary experience.
