A wonderful family in the Boston area is seeking a full-time, highly skilled Private Chef to prepare daily lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse culinary background with formal training and experience in high-level kitchens. While the family enjoys more casual, traditional American fare on a day-to-day basis, the chef must also be capable of delivering elevated cuisine with refined presentation when requested.
Candidates with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants, James Beard recognition, or those who have worked in nationally acclaimed establishments such as Daniel in New York or Le Bernardin are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities & Skills:
- Prepare fresh, seasonal lunches and dinners tailored to family preferences
- Demonstrate a diverse culinary skill set across multiple cuisines and dietary styles
- Work closely within established nutrition guidelines; prior experience supporting a nutritionist is preferred
- Strong understanding of calorie intake, portion control, and performance-based meal planning
- Confident preparing sugar-free, gluten-free, and other restricted diets, as some family members follow strict dietary guidelines
- Embrace a farm-to-table approach, sourcing high-quality, local, and organic ingredients whenever possible
- Familiarity with specialty markets such as Formaggio Kitchen and Wilson Farm is highly desirable
- Strong ability to cook seasonally, creating menus that reflect the best available ingredients throughout the year
- Label, store, and leave meals for reheating with clear, detailed instructions to ensure quality and consistency
- Experience preparing homemade dog biscuits or pet-friendly treats from scratch is considered a plus
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and kitchen organization at all times
- Source ingredients, manage inventory, and oversee provisioning
- Adapt seamlessly between casual family-style meals and elevated, fine dining experiences
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols are consistently followed
- Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen environment before, during, and after service
Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training preferred
- Experience in Michelin-starred, James Beard–recognized, or top-tier restaurants
- Strong understanding of both traditional American cuisine and globally inspired dishes
- Professional, discreet, and service-oriented demeanor
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to make simple family meals on a day to day basis, package, label and leave at times

Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday through Friday schedule - Structured 40/45 hour week - 8am to 4pm
- Salary range: $150,000 + up to $180,000 for highly qualified annually DOE
