Schedule: 5 days per week | Approx. 50 hours per week
Meals: Two meals per day (lunch & dinner), with flexibility as needed
Overview
A wonderful family in the area is seeking an experienced, warm, and highly skilled Private Chef to prepare clean, organic, health-forward meals in a calm and welcoming household. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in nutrition, experienced with specialty diets, and able to create elevated family-style meals daily while maintaining a positive, friendly presence in a home with pets and children. The family are high profile, appreciate discretion and maintain professional respectful boundaries. The home is generally informal, however, when entertaining an elevated level of service is required. Candidates in the N. East encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare two high-quality meals per day with a focus on clean, organic, and fresh ingredients. Plan and execute nutrient-focused menus aligned with the family’s dietary preferences, including Mediterranean-style cuisine, soups, salads, gluten-free options, vegan dishes, and limited poultry and beef as requested, with a strong emphasis on nutrition, balance, and calorie awareness. Shop for top-quality ingredients, manage kitchen inventory, and maintain strong sourcing and vendor relationships.
Demonstrate expert-level bread making and pastry/baking skills, including artisan breads. Maintain an impeccably clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Provide meal prep, snacks, and next-day items as needed to support the family’s schedule. Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, labeling, rotation, and storage practices at all times. Collaborate seamlessly with the household team and adapt to evolving family needs, schedules, and preferences.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Private Chef.
- Strong background in nutrition-focused cooking, organic ingredients, and specialty diets.
- Skilled in bread making, pastry arts, and healthy baked goods.
- Experience working in households with pets and children; friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Highly flexible with scheduling, menu changes, and last-minute adjustments.
- Professional presentation, excellent communication, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Compensation & Benefits
- $130,000 to $160,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
