A family in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston, MA, needs a private chef to prepare meals for their family and live-in staff. 

The primary focus of the role will be preparing lunches for the specified days/weekends, as well as snacks, and serving dinner every night. The chef will do the bulk of the grocery shopping and food prep, keep the pantry stocked, etc.

 

Details:

Husband and Wife: 2 boys (6.5 and 3 years old), a live-in nanny and 2 live-out maids. No pets.

Usually, 4 adults and 1 child for lunch, and 3 adults and 2 children for dinner.

  • The family is quiet and don’t have a very active social life. They do have a few events throughout the year, but in general, are quite stable.
  • No food allergies or restrictions whatsoever.
  • They like to eat healthy, varied, but elaborated enough so healthy still tastes delicious.
  • They are away at least 3 months out of the year and hope that the chef would accompany the family to Nantucket.
  • They have a parking space, if needed, in Boston.
  • Character preferences: kind, quiet, humble and calm demeanor. Their house is delicate, and they need someone who will treat it with a lot of care, who won’t rush and bang / break / make noise etc., someone who will take their time.
  • Traditional Spanish recipes (Mrs. is from Spain, Mr. is American of Italian descent).
  • Keep the kitchen material/appliances used impeccably clean and doing a thorough kitchen cleanup before leaving every night.
  • The maid cleans the kitchen in depth every day, but the family has to interact in the kitchen in the meantime, and they dislike very much finding greasy or dirty places/items along the way.

 

Salary: $90,000 to $100,000 annually
