Position: Private Chef

Location: Various Residences (with travel required)

Schedule: Full-time, 4 days per week (9 AM - 9 PM), including 2 weekends per month and some holidays; 2 consecutive days off during the week.
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Private Chef to provide exceptional meal preparation and culinary services for a family of six. The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating a wide range of nutritious meals, including sophisticated vegan/whole food plant-based dishes, as well as fish, chicken, dairy, and occasional red meat options. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to health and nutrition.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare 2 meals per day with snacks for the family, ensuring the use of the freshest ingredients.
  • Specialize in vegan, plant-based cuisine, but also create a variety of dishes with fish, chicken, dairy, and occasional red meat.
  • Stay informed about changing family dietary restrictions and adapt menus as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the family’s nutritionist and trainer to ensure meals meet health and fitness goals.
  • Maintain detailed inventory lists and manage grocery shopping for all food and beverage needs.
  • Stock refrigerators and pantries, ensuring proper organization and that all foods are stored with lids.
  • Plan and prepare meals ahead of time for the family’s consumption during chef's days off.
  • Keep a log of the family’s likes and dislikes and accommodate their preferences.
  • Ensure the kitchen is organized, sanitized, and cleaned regularly.
  • Purge any expired or unusable items from the kitchen inventory.
  • Plan and prepare meals for special occasions as needed.
  • Cook for the household staff on occasion.
  • Follow proper hygiene protocols, including wearing gloves while cooking.
  • Cook a variety of styles and cuisines to meet family preferences.
  • Collaborate weekly with the family to plan menus.
  • Responsible for all food and beverage purchases, including protein powders and supplements as requested.
  • Manage the wine collection and pairings.
  • Oversee inventory and purchasing of liquor.
  • Create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the family and guests.
  • Cook for guests, including up to 25 people for special events.
  • Travel with the family to different residences, ensuring meal preparation is consistent and of high quality.
  • Communicate with other residence staff, providing stock lists and other necessary information as requested.
  • Be flexible and ready to adjust plans or meals at a moment’s notice.
  • Occasionally cook for family and friends at their homes, gifting your services to those in the family’s life.
  • Work with landscaping staff to harvest and utilize garden-grown produce, herbs, and fruits.
  • Handle the unboxing and disposal of any mail orders.
  • Source special ingredients locally and internationally, including meats, vegetables, seafood, etc.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a private chef or in a similar culinary role.
  • Expertise in vegan and whole food plant-based cooking, as well as various cuisines.
  • Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
  • Ability to plan and execute sophisticated meals for a variety of dietary preferences.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage inventory and grocery shopping.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a welcoming demeanor for family and guests.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and travel with the family.
  • Discretion and confidentiality are essential.
Additional Information:
  • Must be comfortable working with other household staff.
  • Willingness to entertain cooking with children on occasion.
  • Must be able to travel to different residences as needed.
  • Local Atlanta based candidates at this time. **Candidates from surrounding states with a connection to Atlanta will also be considered.
  • Must have outstanding references and tenure to be considered.  
Salary and Benefits:
 
$120 to $140K
