Private Chef – Orlando, Florida (Jamaican, Caribbean & Western Indian Cuisine (with baking/bread making skills)
Location: Windermere, FL (Orlando Area)
Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 per year
Job Overview:
We have a lovely mature husband and wife who seek to hire a skilled and dedicated personal chef with experience in Jamaican, Caribbean, and West Indies cuisine, as well as bakery skills (specifically fresh bread). Ideally, candidates will be from the Caribbean or have an in-depth understanding of Caribbean profile-type food. This position requires preparing customized meals based on clients' preferences, dietary needs, and food restrictions while providing top-tier service and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to understand their meal preferences, dietary needs, food allergies, and restrictions.
- Create customized meal plans tailored to clients' specific requirements, emphasizing Jamaican, Caribbean, and Western Indian cuisines. Must understand the food profiles to apply, ideally have a connection to the Carribean as our client grew up on the islands.
- Shop for fresh ingredients, ensuring high-quality selections, including specialty items like organic, gluten-free, or other specific items.
- Prepare meals in clients' kitchens, adhering to all food health and safety regulations.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, kitchen tools, and equipment before and after meal preparation. Our client wants to make sure that whoever applies for the postion understands that the kitchen, pantry, fridges must be organized and immaculately clean at all times.
- Package and label prepared meals for later consumption with clear reheating instructions.
- Ensure proper storage of meal ingredients to prevent spoilage.
- Manage client relationships by providing exceptional customer service, addressing feedback professionally.
Qualifications:
- Proven culinary experience, particularly in Jamaican, Caribbean, Western Indian cuisine, and baking (especially fresh bread).
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for high-quality cooking and client satisfaction.
- Ability to adapt to and handle client feedback professionally.
- Caribbean background or deep understanding of Caribbean cuisine preferred.
- Must have excellent references, clean background and ideally be in the Orlando area. There is no relocaiton offered at this time.
Salary and benefits:
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
PTO: Two weeks vacation one week of paid sick leave
Schedule: Monday through Friday with some weekend coverage
**Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner with a break in the middle of the day (40-50 hour week)
