A young family living in Manhattan seeks to hire a tutor.
The family lives in a 3,550 sq. ft. Manhattan apartment and is visible in the social scene in NY and the Hamptons. The entrepreneurial couple has two children (a 2-year-old, and a 6 ½ year old son), a nanny, a housekeeper, and an additional part-time cleaning staff in place.
The tutor will be tasked with helping the children do homework, teach manners, etiquette, and social graces. The candidate should plan to meet the children early afternoon, around 3pm and stay though possibly dinner. There is a live-in nanny on staff to handle any issues.
The candidate will supervise play time, walks, and manage the older son’s after-school activities/attend the activities, ensuring that he is where he is supposed to be on time, learning and involved in fun programs with friends.
This is a freelance opportunity for a career tutor in the NY/Manhattan area.
The ideal candidate may be asked to travel, but not a requirement. Flexibility with a schedule is much appreciated, but in general the schedule is 3pm – 8pm, M-F
This person would sometimes be asked to stay until the principals come home from a dinner or stay overnight with the children if mother and father both had to go out of town. This role will command $80 plus.
$40-$45 an hour, D/O/E
Bachelor’s degree, ideally education background
Must present well and be comfortable in a home with “A” list celebrities, who frequent often
Must be a team player, without ego, and understand boundaries
