Location: Newport Coast, CA (92657) – West Coast base, with occasional international travel

Overview
A high-profile family is seeking an experienced and dynamic Traveling Tutor to provide full-time educational support and enrichment for two children, ages five and six. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, experience working in UHNW or high-profile households, and the ability to create engaging, curriculum-based learning while incorporating creativity, exploration, and cultural experiences. This role is best suited for a highly adaptable individual without strong personal ties, who embraces a nomadic lifestyle and enjoys frequent travel. The ideal candidate will combine a passion for education with the flexibility and enthusiasm required to accompany the family wherever they are in the world, ensuring consistency in learning and enrichment at every stage.
This role requires an adaptable, resourceful, and positive professional with a passion for children and a genuine love of teaching.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver individualized tutoring in core subjects (literacy, numeracy, science, arts, etc.) tailored to each child’s needs and learning style.

Create and implement curriculum plans, homework support, and hands-on projects that stimulate curiosity and learning.

Incorporate Waldorf or Montessori-inspired approaches to foster creativity, independence, and holistic development.

Plan and lead educational outings (museums, cultural events, nature excursions) both locally and abroad.

Support emotional, social, and academic growth with a nurturing, patient approach.

Coordinate with parents, nannies, and household staff to ensure consistency and high standards of care.

Maintain flexibility to adapt routines during travel and international stays.

Provide occasional proxy-parenting and childcare support as needed.
Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ tutoring or teaching experience with primary-age children.

Strong academic background; teaching qualifications required.

Outstanding references and proven long-term tenure in prior roles.

Prior experience supporting UHNW families or private households.

Legal right to work in the U.S. with clear command of English.

Familiarity with state education guidelines.

Knowledge of Waldorf and/or Montessori approaches to learning is highly welcomed.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 – $180,000, dependent on experience.
