Personal Assistant / Companion

Location: Rice University / Rice Village area, near the Museum District and Texas Medical Center, Houston, Texas
Position Type: Full-Time | Live-In or Live-Out

A wonderful client based in the Rice University / Rice Village area of Houston is seeking a highly capable Personal Assistant / Companion to provide both administrative support and meaningful day-to-day companionship.

The client is a 67-year-old woman in excellent physical health and cognitively sharp. Following the recent loss of her husband, she is seeking a positive, engaging, and supportive individual who can assist in maintaining an organized home and an active, fulfilling lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

Companion Support

  • Provide warm, engaging companionship with a positive and supportive presence
  • Accompany the client to medical appointments, social outings, and activities
  • Encourage an active and socially connected lifestyle

Personal & Administrative Support

  • Manage calendars, appointments, and scheduling (medical, dental, beauty, and social engagements)
  • Handle email and text correspondence
  • Coordinate reservations (restaurants, events, etc.)
  • Assist with organizing daily routines and household operations

Household & Lifestyle Support

  • Assist with light meal preparation
  • Support overall organization of the home
  • Manage and troubleshoot smart home technology
  • Provide driving support, including errands and appointments

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience as a Personal Assistant, Companion, or similar role
  • Administratively sharp, highly organized, and detail-oriented
  • Tech-savvy (email, texting, calendar management, smart home systems)
  • Warm, positive, and emotionally intuitive
  • Physically active, engaging, and enjoys conversation and social interaction
  • Professional, discreet, and respectful of boundaries
  • Strong communication skills

Living Arrangements (if Live-In)

  • Private bedroom and bathroom
  • Private entrance
  • Shared living spaces

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 (DOE)
  • Two (2) weeks paid vacation
  • One (1) week paid sick leave
  • Medical contribution

Additional Notes

This position is open and available immediately. While full-time support is preferred, the family is flexible and focused on finding the right individual. Candidates based in Houston, Dallas, or Austin are encouraged to apply, as well as those with a strong connection to Houston.
