A wonderful family in downtown Charleston, SC, with roots in Austin, TX, is seeking an experienced and caring Nanny to join their fully staffed home. The family is looking for a dedicated individual to provide childcare while working alongside an existing team of nannies. The family’s primary residence is a 7,000-square-foot home with five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and three half bathrooms. Travel to their second home in Austin, TX, and a property in Nantucket is required, with potential oversight of additional properties in the future.

About the Role

The family is professionally active, with Mr. managing a billion-dollar hedge fund and Mrs. expecting their eighth child. Their bustling household is supported by two full-time nannies, a laundress, grounds staff, and a wardrobe management service that coordinates clothing across properties. The Nanny will work closely with the children, other nannies, and parents to ensure the children’s educational and personal growth.

Schedule: ROTA schedule - 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off. 

Key Responsibilities

Child-Focused Duties:

  • Provide full-time care and supervision for the children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities to support the children’s physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene, and bedtime.
  • Support educational activities, including helping with homework and facilitating learning games.
  • Take children on outings and excursions to promote social, cultural, and intellectual enrichment.
  • Coordinate with teachers and other caregivers as required to ensure the children’s needs are met.
  • Help with the children’s personal belongings, including organizing and packing for travel.

Travel Support:

  • Accompany the family to Austin, Nantucket, and other destinations as needed, providing childcare and educational support during trips. Again, coordination support nannies as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Housing: On-site shared housing or off-site housing stipend offered. 
  • Benefits: Two weeks of vacation, one week of sick leave, and additional perks.
