$130,000–$160,000 Annually DOE | Full Benefits | Family Travel | Long-Term Opportunity

The Opportunity

A wonderful opportunity is available for an experienced, energetic, and engaging Career Nanny to join a lovely young family in the beautiful Lake Forest area of Chicago's North Shore.

Our clients are a warm, welcoming UHNW family with three young children: a 5-year-old boy, a 3½-year-old girl, and an 11-month-old baby. The primary responsibility will be caring for the two older children, as the baby has a dedicated nanny.

The family is looking for someone who genuinely loves children, brings positive energy and creativity to each day, and understands the importance of structure, education, consistency, and thoughtful guidance.

Both parents are very involved in their children's lives and have created a happy, active, and well-organized household. They appreciate individuals who are proactive, communicate clearly, and work well as part of a team.

This is a long-term opportunity for a professional who would love to grow with the family, build meaningful relationships with the children, and ideally remain with them throughout their school years and beyond.

The Family & Household Environment

The family is approachable, social, and genuinely respectful of the professionals who support their home.

Dad works in a structured corporate environment and maintains a detailed calendar, while Mom is very active socially and manages a busy schedule of family activities, events, and engagements.

The household operates as a well-organized team, with clear communication, mutual respect, and a collaborative approach to supporting the children.

Their current long-term nanny just had her fourth child and will be taking maternity leave, supporting only as needed.

We are looking for someone who is confident in her abilities, comfortable sharing responsibilities, and understands that successful private service requires flexibility, teamwork, and a genuine willingness to help wherever needed.

There is no room for ego or attitude in this household, must be a team player and have references who will verify the ability to work well with others. The family values kindness, professionalism, positive energy, and individuals who genuinely enjoy what they do.

Nanny Responsibilities

The primary focus will be providing exceptional care, educational support, and engaging daily activities for the family's 5-year-old son and 3½-year-old daughter.

Responsibilities will include:

Childcare & Development

  • Providing attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care.

  • Planning creative, educational, and age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, curiosity, and independence.

  • Supporting school routines, including drop-offs, pickups, and extracurricular activities.

  • Assisting with early learning, reading, numbers, and age-appropriate educational development.

  • Encouraging an interest in math, science, technology, and creative learning as the children grow.

  • Planning outdoor adventures, interactive games, arts and crafts, and activities that keep the children engaged.

  • Encouraging physical activity, swimming, and seasonal outdoor recreation.

  • Maintaining healthy routines, appropriate boundaries, and positive behavior.

  • Managing screen time in accordance with the parents' preferences.

  • Communicating regularly with the parents through daily updates, photographs, and activity summaries.

Children's Organization & Daily Support

  • Managing the children's schedules, school calendars, activities, and appointments.

  • Maintaining and organizing their wardrobes, including monitoring clothing sizes, seasonal needs, and shoes.

  • Packing and unpacking for school, activities, family outings, and travel.

  • Preparing simple, healthy, homemade meals and snacks when appropriate.

  • Assisting with children's errands, reservations, and activity planning.

  • Keeping children's belongings, supplies, and activity areas organized.

  • Coordinating with the parents and other household team members to ensure the children's days run smoothly.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being actively involved with children rather than simply supervising them. A nanny who can make everyday activities educational, interesting, and fun would be a wonderful fit.

Family Travel

The family enjoys traveling throughout the year, including regular visits to:

  • Florida

  • Aspen, Colorado

  • Hawaii

Travel is an important part of this position, and the successful candidate should genuinely enjoy accompanying the family, adapting to different environments, and maintaining the children's routines while away from home.

Responsibilities will include preparing for trips, organizing the children's clothing and belongings, coordinating passports and travel-related medical requirements, and planning activities to keep the children engaged throughout their travels.

The family enjoys an active lifestyle, so someone who is a confident swimmer, comfortable skiing, and enthusiastic about outdoor activities would be particularly well suited to this opportunity.

We would love to find someone who views travel as an enjoyable part of the role and appreciates the opportunity to create wonderful experiences and memories with the children.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an established Career Nanny who brings experience, maturity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with young children.

The successful candidate will offer:

  • Significant professional nanny experience, ideally with UHNW families or within well-staffed private households.

  • A strong understanding of early childhood development, education, and age-appropriate learning.

  • Previous teaching experience, early childhood education training, or a related educational background would be highly desirable.

  • A warm, energetic, playful, and genuinely engaging personality.

  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work closely with involved parents.

  • Strong organizational abilities and experience managing multiple calendars, schedules, and activities.

  • A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.

  • A collaborative, team-oriented attitude with no ego.

  • Confidence preparing healthy, simple, home-style meals for children.

  • Excellent swimming skills and comfort participating in water activities.

  • Comfort skiing and enjoying outdoor activities with the family.

  • A valid driver's license and excellent driving record.

  • Flexibility to travel domestically throughout the year.

  • Strong command of spoken English.

  • Exceptional discretion, judgment, honesty, and professionalism.

  • Outstanding, recent, and verifiable professional references.

  • A stable employment history demonstrating longevity and commitment.

Candidates with an existing connection to Chicago or the surrounding North Shore communities would be particularly welcome. However, the family is open to considering exceptional candidates from elsewhere in the United States who are willing to relocate.

Additional Candidate Requirements

Please note that the following requirements are mandatory for consideration:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Legal Work Authorization: Candidates must be U.S. citizens or legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Demonstrated Longevity: Candidates must have a minimum of 3–5 years of consistent employment with one private family, demonstrating stability, commitment, and a genuine appreciation for long-term relationships.

  • Outstanding Professional References: Candidates must provide exceptional, recent, and verifiable references from previous private household employers.

  • Clear command of English.

A Genuine Long-Term Opportunity

One of the most appealing aspects of this position is the family's desire to establish a lasting relationship with the right nanny.

Their current nanny has been with them long-term, and they would love to find someone who shares that same commitment.

Ideally, the family hopes to welcome a professional who will become an important part of the children's lives, supporting them through their early school years, educational milestones, and eventually seeing them off to college.

They appreciate individuals who understand the importance of consistency, trust, and the positive influence a wonderful nanny can have on a child's life.

Compensation & Benefits

The family is offering an excellent compensation package, including:

  • $130,000–$160,000 annual salary, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Comprehensive medical benefits.

  • Two weeks of paid vacation.

  • One week of paid sick leave.

  • All work-related travel expenses covered.

  • Relocation assistance available for exceptional candidates with outstanding tenure and professional references.

  • Long-term stability with a respectful, appreciative, and family-oriented employer.

A Wonderful Opportunity for the Right Professional

This is a particularly appealing opportunity for an experienced Career Nanny who loves working with young children, enjoys an active lifestyle, and appreciates being part of a positive, well-organized household.

The family is looking for someone who is confident, kind, adaptable, and genuinely enthusiastic about children's education, development, and happiness.

For a professional who enjoys travel, values teamwork, and would welcome the chance to grow alongside a wonderful family for many years, I would absolutely encourage you to explore this opportunity.
