Nanny – North Shore Chicago (Lake Forest Area)
Full-Time | Long-Term Position | Travel Required
Salary: $130,000 – $160,000 + Full Benefits

A warm, young UHNW family based on Chicago’s North Shore (Lake Forest area) is seeking a positive, energetic, and highly engaging Career Nanny to support their three children — a 5-year-old boy, a 3½-year-old girl, and a 7-month-old infant. This is a long-term opportunity for a professional who is looking to grow with a wonderful family and become a valued part of a respectful, well-structured household. The primary focus is the 5 year old and the 3½ year old. The baby has her own nanny.

Role Overview

The family is approachable, social, and deeply respectful of their team. They travel throughout the year to destinations such as Florida, Aspen, and Hawaii and are seeking a nanny who is flexible, organized, and proactive when supporting family travel. Responsibilities include preparing for trips, packing for the children, organizing passports and medical needs, planning engaging activities, and ensuring the children are happy, occupied, and thriving while away.

Their current long-term nanny is expecting her fourth child and will be taking maternity leave. The family hopes to welcome a new nanny who can grow with them long term and eventually work alongside the returning nanny in a collaborative, team-focused environment. They would love to find a nanny who will see their childern off to collage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, educational, and engaging care for three young children

  • Plan age-appropriate activities that support early childhood development

  • Communicate clearly with parents through daily updates, photos, and activity summaries

  • Assist with travel preparation including packing, logistics, and planning interactive games and experiences

  • School drop off and pick-up
  • Support children’s schedules, after-school activities, and appointments

  • Assist with reservations, errands, and light family support as needed

  • Maintain children’s wardrobes — updating clothing and shoes as needed

  • Prepare simple, healthy, homemade family-style meals when appropriate

  • Help with homework support, including math, technology, and science when age-appropriate

  • Maintain organization across multiple calendars and schedules

  • Confident swimmer and comfortable participating in water activities

  • Comfortable skiing and engaging in outdoor family activities

  • Enjoys playing board games and interactive activities

  • Proactively manage and monitor screen time in alignment with parental guidelines

Family Environment

This is a positive, collaborative home where both parents are hands-on and highly engaged. The household operates as a well-oiled machine with strong communication and mutual respect. Dad works within a structured corporate environment and maintains a detailed calendar, while Mom is very social and manages frequent events and engagements. The family values professionalism, kindness, adaptability, and teamwork — there is no room for ego or attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 – $160,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

  • Two (2) weeks paid vacation

  • One (1) week paid sick leave

  • Full medical benefits package

  • Travel expenses covered

  • Relocation assistance available for exceptional candidates with outstanding tenure and verifiable references

Ideal Candidate

  • Energetic, warm, and engaging with a polished yet approachable demeanor

  • Strong background in early childhood education combined with nanny experience preferred

  • Team player who communicates clearly and proactively

  • Highly organized with strong planning and multitasking skills

  • Flexible and comfortable traveling with the family throughout the year

  • Excellent swimmer and confident driver with a clean driving record

  • Strong command of English

  • Enjoys cooking simple, wholesome meals

  • Discreet, respectful, and adaptable

  • Ideally has a connection to Chicago or is open to relocating for a long-term commitment
