Tuxedo Park Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny/Property Manager
(based in Tuxedo Park lake house, only one hour from NYC, but works multiple NY state locations):
We are seeking a skilled Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny/Property Manager for a lovely home in Tuxedo Park and the family's multiple New York City properties
Must Haves:
7 day a week Live-In preferred (working 5 of the 7 days, days off usually taken during the week).
Live-In experience preferred.
Uniform will be worn (white polo and khaki pants) when family is present only.
No major attachments (young kids/married or own pets)
Ok with principals’ pets (cats/small dog in future).
Must Drive.
Must be physically able to climb a lot of stairs (on townhouse days).
Smart, team player.
Property Management experience a plus.
Tuxedo Park Live-In duties are 70% Housekeeping / 20% Nanny / 10% Property Management.
Job Duties:
- Provide Full-Time weekend housekeeping, light cooking, and evening babysitting as needed for family of three in weekend lake house.
- Duties include breakfast mainly for 6-year old girl (but other family members, if needed); tidy up all bedrooms/bathrooms/kitchen; prep food for lunch; drive child to golf/tennis as needed; evening babysitting, as needed; laundry; general cleaning of house (mostly quiet cleaning in opposite zone of family); put pillows out by pool in season; take cars to car wash or to get safety inspection; errands like picking up pizza, etc.
- Meeting vendors (landscapers, electricians, plumbers, etc.) as needed mainly at Tuxedo Park lake house
- The rest of the working days in general – clean Tuxedo Park home, and 2 days drive to train station to take train to NYC (Upper East Side) to support Townhouse staff (extra ironing/cleaning).
- Once a month, drive to Southampton and spend a day cleaning that house (mainly dust, vacuum, turn on taps/flush toilets…no dishes/no laundry).
- Keep eyes on Tuxedo Park lake house (and Southampton monthly) and report any needed repairs/issues to assistant (grass too long, leaves in pool, a/c not working, etc.)
- Willingness to work weekends in Southampton in July/August only.
Hours on weekend when family is at the lake home are 7:00AM-7:00PM (or later, if needed, but with breaks). The balance of the 50 hours not taken on weekends are during the week (and are semi-flexible to get to 50 hours as this is a supporting role in the week - but main role is weekends).
Salary and Benefits
Room/Board provided.
Use of car for work purposes.
Two weeks paid vacation (on mutually agreed upon dates).
Health Insurance provided (premiums are paid).
Pay is approx. $80-95K per year.
* Pictures available for accomodation upon request (separate entrance in house on property of a newly renovated bedroom with desk, private en-suite bath, cable television, private kitchenette and washer/dryer). There are numerous hiking trails that start across the street that a nature lover would enjoy.
