Live-In Lead Housekeeper
A private 18-acre ranch estate in the Santa Ynez Valley is seeking an experienced Live-In Lead Housekeeper to oversee the daily housekeeping operations of the residence. This position plays a key role in maintaining the estate to the highest standards while supporting the Principals, their Ladies Maid, and the household team.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in ultra-high-net-worth private households, strong full-charge housekeeping and laundry expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively within a professional estate team.
This is a full-time, live-in position that includes a newly built private one-bedroom, one-bath apartment with a kitchenette and private patio located on the estate grounds.
Key Responsibilities
Estate Care
Maintain the residence to meticulous “white glove” standards, ensuring all living spaces, furnishings, floors, windows, linens, and common areas are consistently immaculate.
Laundry & Wardrobe Care
Manage household laundry, including delicate fabrics and fine linens. Duties include washing, ironing, pressing, folding, and proper garment and linen storage.
Organization
Maintain orderly closets, storage areas, and household systems while ensuring the residence remains well organized at all times.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the House Manager, culinary staff, and other housekeeping team members while following established estate procedures and schedules.
Event Support
Assist with household preparation and service during private events and gatherings hosted at the residence.
Qualifications
Professional Experience
Minimum 10 years of private household or estate experience, preferably in a leadership or executive housekeeping capacity within a UHNW residence.
Service Standards
Strong knowledge of luxury home care, fine materials, and five-star hospitality standards.
Professional Demeanor
Highly trustworthy, detail-oriented, and discreet with the ability to handle valuable household items with care and respect.
Communication
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Work Ethic & Flexibility
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on the Principals’ schedule.
Screening Requirements
Candidates must pass a comprehensive background check, provide excellent professional references, maintain a clean driving record, and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation
$40.00 – $45.00 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities may be available.
