Housekeeper/Personal Chef - Brookville, New York

This opportunity requires a candidate who is experienced as both a housekeeper and cook, someone who is very comfortable in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have live-in experience and will be flexible with their schedule.

We have a lovely opportunity for a cook/housekeeper to work for a wonderful husband and wife in their 50s with grown children. During the week, it's just Mr. and Mrs. in residence with their dogs. The couple entertains, and they request coverage on Saturdays and Sundays. Saturday and Sunday coverage is not required every weekend, but when the weekends are worked for a special event, your days off would be Monday and Tuesday. 

Occasionally, the couple's children visit from New York City. The home consists of an entire staff with an existing team that has worked for many years. The family is looking for a cook/housekeeper with long-term intent— someone without ego and a team approach. There is a formality and structure to the home. 

• Mrs. enjoys cooking and entertaining, so having a flair for cooking or formal training is needed. You will help Mrs. in the kitchen often.
• It is just Mr. and Mrs. in the home; no children are in the house daily.
• There are two friendly, well-behaved dogs.
• The primary residence consists of 4 bedrooms & 5-6 bathrooms, principal living areas, and three stories. 
• No outside work is needed, as there is support to maintain the house's exterior.
• Responsibilities include cleaning, laundry, housekeeping, deep cleaning, pantry, closet organization, running errands, grocery shopping, and helping Mrs. in the kitchen.
• Preparing the house for seasonal décor and generally being willing to help out.
• The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday. When Mr. and Mrs. travel, the candidate can request weekends off or when they go to their Florida residence. 
• No travel is required.

• Housing provided - A three-bedroom carriage house, bathrooms, and communal living space available. You would share the collaborative living space with the current executive housekeeper, who is lovely.
• Salary $75k/year

Must:

Pass a full criminal background check 

Have excellent/verifiable references 

Be in good physical shape and able to climb four stories 

Have experience working in a fully staffed home
