Director of Residences - CLOSED
Position
A wonderful, informal family of 5 is looking for a highly experienced Director of Residences. Our clients are humble, respectful, hands-on, and casual. They are not looking for white glove service. This is a new role.
The family has multiple residences in San Francisco, Seattle, Aspen, Lake Tahoe, and Stinson Beach, along with a collection of collector automobiles and marine craft.
Ideally, the family is looking for a candidate with prior experience managing a portfolio of homes and who has the skills to source and negotiate potential new properties. Candidate should have the flexibility to travel periodically, as needed, for short periods. This role is solely management. Prior experience in construction management and working with interior designers would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have tenure in previous roles, be confident, respectful, mannerly, easily directed by the principal, be highly organized, polished, a team player, and educated.
Responsibilities:
- The Director of Residences will travel to the properties, oversee and support, perform unannounced inspections, develop and execute SOP’s/ house manuals specific to each property, with the aid of an executive assistant.
- Initiate new vendor relations and vendor lists and/or maintain existing vendor relations, while providing seamless support and improving the maintenance standard throughout each property.
- Assist our client in working through his project/wish list.
- Source, train, and onboard new staff and manage/up-train existing staff.
- Oversee the care of the existing car and boat collection.
- Develop and update monthly oversight reports, outlining pending and completed tasks, in order of priority.
- Report maintenance issues or items that require addressing.
- Make suggestions on efficient ways to minimize waste, while maintaining standards.
- Give the principal options when making repairs-- presenting detailed explanations, and making suggestions regarding the best possible way to move forward.
The principals are very busy entrepreneurs without ego and expect the same from their Director of Residences. As our clients are tech-savvy, they are looking for a candidate who is comfortable with technology- remote access, security, etc. A candidate should anticipate the family’s needs, be proactive and not-reactive. Candidate should possess excellent judgment, an ability to analyze risk, and A+ problem-solving skills.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (flexibility to travel at times)
Benefits:
- Full Benefits Package/Salary range $150,000 to $250,000/Standard P/T/O (Local candidates preferred) Possible relocation for highly-skilled candidates. A lovely separate apartment close to our client's home in San Francisco is offered for candidates who need accommodation.
- Must pass a detailed criminal background check, drug testing and hold a clean current driving license
- Batchelor’s Degree at a minimum required
