Property Manager / Facilities Manager – Private Residence

Location: Hobe Sound, Florida (Oceanfront Private Residence)

A wonderful, fully staffed private family residence in Hobe Sound, Florida is seeking an experienced, full-time Property Manager / Facilities Manager to oversee exterior operations, systems oversight, vendor coordination, and hands-on maintenance of an oceanfront home. This is a long-term opportunity, as the current Facilities Manager is retiring. This is a hands-on role. 


Position Overview

This role is responsible for the care, maintenance, safety, and daily readiness of the property, with a strong emphasis on exterior operations, systems oversight, vendor coordination, and hands-on support. The ideal candidate is professional, discreet, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working within a formal household environment, while collaborating closely with the Estate Manager, who serves as the primary point of contact.


Key Responsibilities

Property & Exterior Maintenance

  • Oversee and maintain all exterior aspects of the oceanfront property

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance reviews

  • Ensure all pathways, walkways, and patios are clear of debris and free of trip hazards

  • Identify and address safety concerns promptly

  • Perform painting, window cleaning, pressure washing, and general exterior upkeep

  • Maintain and clean additional outbuildings on the property

Systems & Technical Oversight

  • Working knowledge of water towers, HVAC systems, and general mechanical systems

  • Troubleshoot and support smart home technology, media, and security systems

  • Ensure all security systems are fully operational and camera views are unobstructed by foliage

  • Monitor perimeter visibility and access points

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

  • Assist with vendor oversight and on-site coordination

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with the Estate Manager

  • Engage only pre-approved, licensed, and pre-screened vendors

  • Ensure all vendor activity follows household standards, security procedures, and SOPs

Vehicle & Equipment Oversight

  • Maintain and service all vehicles, including washing, fueling, and scheduling service

  • Maintain and service golf carts, including cleaning, charging, and upkeep

  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are fully charged and fueled at all times
    (No unattended trickle chargers)

Household Support

  • Prepare patios and outdoor living spaces daily for the Principals

  • Work alongside two housekeepers and assist with heavier interior cleaning as needed

  • Perform basic household repairs, including light electrical and plumbing work

Security, Safety & Emergency Preparedness

  • Maintain security procedures for VIP guests and household safety

  • Ensure foliage does not obstruct security cameras or sightlines

  • Assist with hurricane preparedness, following established SOPs

  • Support updating SOPs and property manuals as systems or procedures change

Additional

  • Watercraft experience is a plus

  • Maintain professional boundaries and a calm, respectful demeanor at all times


Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time, year-round position

  • Primary schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Additional coverage: Some weekend availability is required for parties, events, holidays, and holiday setup and breakdown, as needed

  • In-season schedule: Memorial Day through Labor Day

  • Off-season: Family is willing to maintain or create sufficient hours to support a full 40-hour workweek (Flexability with schedule offered in the off season) 

  • Compensation: $75K–$95k Depending on expereince

Ideal Background

  • Previous experience as a Facilities Manager, Property Manager, or Senior Houseman in a private residence

  • Contractor’s license or ownership of a handyman business is highly desirable

  • Experience supporting private families in Jupiter Island, Hobe Sound, or Vero Beach is a plus

  • Strong understanding of property systems, preventative maintenance, and security awareness

  • Comfortable working independently while coordinating with a fully staffed household
