Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (some flexibility required)
Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 annually

Position Overview:
A private household in Ortega is seeking a reliable, discreet, and service-oriented Houseman/Handyman to support the day-to-day care and maintenance of a private residence. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of pride in their work, be proactive, organized, and capable of working both independently and alongside other staff members to maintain a smooth and well-functioning home. Our client, a senior lady, has had the same gentleman in place for the past 20+ years, now retiring. This is a fully staffed home.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections of the property, both interior and exterior, checking for damage, leaks, electrical issues, or anything requiring immediate attention.

Perform minor home repairs and general handyman duties such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and basic troubleshooting.

Manage and coordinate service vendors, including scheduling appointments, overseeing their work, and ensuring high standards are met.

Assist housekeepers as needed with moving furniture, carrying supplies, or addressing maintenance-related cleaning support.

Water and care for indoor and outdoor plants as directed.

Maintain and manage household vehicle(s), including fueling, scheduling service/maintenance, keeping them clean and ready for use.

Drive an elderly principal to medical appointments, social engagements, and dinners—patience, a kind demeanor, and punctuality are essential.

Monitor supplies and report low stock of household maintenance items.

Set up and break down for small-scale events or family gatherings as needed.
Qualifications:

Prior experience in a similar Houseman/Handyman or general maintenance role preferred.

Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Ability to lift moderate weight, perform physical tasks, and navigate stairs.

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems a plus.

Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of employer’s privacy.

Must pass background check and provide references.

Conversational English required; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Compensation & Schedule:
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with some flexibility for occasional evenings or weekend coverage as needed. Salary is $60,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience, with a medical contribution included.
