Houseman/Handyman/Runner to pick up errands
Our Sagaponack client needs a houseman/runner for a busy season. This is a full-time live-out opportunity. This person will be hands-on and in charge of maintaining the overall physical wellness of the property, inside and out. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, confident in using and troubleshooting appliances, running errands, and supporting the Estate Manager as her right arm.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the home's exterior, assist housekeepers with moving heavy items
- Maintain the property grounds, assist with watering plants, pick up any towels or trash
- Climbing ladders/Cleaning windows
- Confidence to reach out to vendors to help fix broken technical devices/appliances if needed
- Perform routine maintenance on the home, such as changing light bulbs, troubleshooting, garage door repair, etc.
- Pet care as needed
- Maintain all vehicles with gas, electric charge, and cleanliness
- Preparations for severe summer weather: bring in furniture, roll in awnings, etc
- Assist with snow removal around doorways and access to the garages
- Assistance with event set up and breakdown
- Garbage and recycling removal
- Complete small projects on the estate
This position is for a houseman/handyman/runner who is familiar with the area and lives locally. The candidate will take direction well but also must have common sense to complete tasks independently.
Soft start in June, normal 5 days a week, 40-hour week.
July through September, 7 days a week coverage required. Some weeks when family and friends are in residence, it will be 12-16 hours days. (There is a real opportunity to make excellent money, based on a projected weekly salary in the range of $4,500 a week)
October the hours go back to a 5-day week, 40 to 45 hours a week.
Local candidates are preferred.
