Housekeeper/Cook – Shaker Heights, Cleveland, Ohio, 44120
An independent, high functioning couple in their early 80s would like to bring in a lovely lady to assist them with cooking, cleaning, running errands, home management, and house sitting. The ideal candidate will respect the principals’ independence and decision-making. The clients are alert and capable; they need assistance in day-to-day tasks.
Their home is a beautiful Victorian with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The couple doesn’t use all rooms in their home, but all rooms need to be checked daily. The position is a live-out opportunity, but the couple is open to offering relocation assistance and a housing stipend to highly qualified candidates.
Must be fully vaccinated.
Duties:
- Laundry - daily laundry for the couple/ironing/managing dry cleaning
- Cooking - the couple is looking for someone who can help them eat healthily, make simple meals, and ensure that they eat three meals a day
- Driving - run errands with the couple, Dr appointments, etc.
- Cleaning - running faucets, showers, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning silver, etc.
- Errands – dry cleaning drop off and pick up, airport runs, daily shopping
- Housesitting – when the couple travel once a year
The family is looking for a kind, cultured and compassionate candidate. The principals are very practical, down-to-earth, and humble. They exercise daily, Mr. still goes to the office, they are active and enjoy classical music. They have a son in his 50s who lives nearby; he is immune-compromised, so being careful of potential infections, washing hands, and understanding infectious diseases would be important.
They would love to find a candidate that would stay with them for a long time.
Weekly Schedule:
The couple stays in their city home Sunday through Thursday.
The couple goes to their country house, which is an hour away Thursday through Sunday every week, weather permitting.
The role requires the candidate to go to the couple’s country home prior to their arrival, stock the home with supplies, prepare and leave food, put sheets/ laundry on, and perform all the duties as in their city home. Note: this is a much smaller home.
Details:
- Immediate start for skilled, qualified candidates
- 40 to 50 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with flexibility
- Housing/Housing stipend will be provided (position is live-out)
- Salary: $70,000 to $80,000
- Full medical benfits
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Mileage reimbursement
