Part-Time Housekeeper – Private Residence

Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York

We are seeking an exceptionally experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to maintain a beautiful, approximately 7,000-square-foot private residence located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

The residence is primarily unoccupied throughout the year, with the principals and/or guests typically in residence only one to two times annually. During unoccupied periods, the primary focus will be maintaining the property in immaculate condition and ensuring that it remains consistently prepared for the principals’ or guests’ arrival.

This is a high-profile, highly secure private environment, requiring an individual who understands the importance of discretion, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and adherence to established security protocols.

The ideal candidate will have extensive private household experience and an exceptional understanding of best cleaning practices, care of fine furnishings and surfaces, and luxury-level housekeeping standards.

Regular Housekeeping Responsibilities

• Detailed cleaning and ongoing upkeep of the entire residence
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping
• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas
• Proper care of fine furnishings, delicate surfaces, specialty materials, and high-end finishes
• Maintaining bedrooms, linens, closets, drawers, and household organization
• Deep cleaning and seasonal cleaning as required
• Polishing and maintaining appropriate fixtures and household items
• Monitoring and maintaining household cleaning supplies and inventories
• Identifying maintenance concerns and communicating them promptly
• Ensuring the residence remains immaculate, organized, and guest-ready at all times
• Following all established household, privacy, and security protocols

When Principals or Guests Are in Residence

When the residence is occupied, responsibilities will increase to include full-service housekeeping support and preparation, including:

• Preparing the residence prior to arrival and ensuring all rooms are guest-ready
• Laundry and proper garment care
• Ironing, pressing, and steaming clothing and linens
• Preparing bedrooms and changing linens
• Maintaining closets and personal belongings
• Monitoring and replenishing household, linen, toiletry, and guest inventories
• Maintaining bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas throughout the stay
• Providing discreet daily housekeeping and turndown-style support as appropriate
• Restoring the residence to its established standard following departure

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must have significant professional housekeeping experience, preferably within high-profile, UHNW, or luxury private residences.

A thorough understanding of professional cleaning methods and the appropriate products, techniques, and equipment for caring for a luxury residence is essential.

The successful candidate must be exceptionally discreet, trustworthy, organized, proactive, security-conscious, and detail-oriented. The ability to work independently and maintain an exceptionally high standard without continuous supervision is particularly important given that the residence is unoccupied for much of the year.

Outstanding, verifiable professional references are required. Only experienced candidates with a demonstrated history of excellence in private service will be considered.
