Housekeeper/Manager - PLACED

Family is seeking a polished Housekeeper/Manager who can act as gate keeper during the season and off season. During the summer months, full support will be needed, longer hours. The ideal candidate will have experience working locally.

When the family is in residence, the house has to operate like a five-star resort, and be fully staffed when family and friends are visiting. When it is solely the principals, they would like to have the house to themselves by 5 pm daily. Having the house in a state of readiness is important. Those familiar with or having experience working at the Chattahoochee Country Club or Harbor Point would have an advantage.

The family has friends and relatives visiting the house when they are not in residence. They require someone who can stock the fridge with supplies, check that the air conditioning system is running properly, make sure that the showers, faucets, and toilets are clean and running during the off season on a weekly basis, that towels are fresh and restocked from previous visits. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience cleaning homes and verifiable references with extreme flexibility.

Daily Responsibilities to include:

• Deep, thorough cleaning and organization of the house from top to bottom

• Vacuuming surfaces and disinfecting areas, taking special care when cleaning the family sauna and exercise equipment

• Dusting fine furnishings inside and delicate exteriors according to the family’s preferences, putting things back exactly as they were found

• Vacuuming, waxing, and polishing marble and hardwood floors

• Special care for exotic hardwood and tile surfaces, porcelain sinks, and bathtubs

• Our clients admire a candidate who will ask if they are not sure how to clean something. They have had previous experience of housekeepers who have damaged clothing and furniture in their home. Our clients want someone with common sense who is confident to ask a question.

• Excellent knowledge in care and upkeep of fine linens, luxurious drapes, and upholstery

• Cleaning and polishing hand-crafted chandeliers, lanterns, and mirrors. For higher areas that are inaccessible, outside service vendors will be brought into the property

• Producing monthly reports advising client what transpired during the month, foreseeable projects, incoming guest reminders for the following month, budget related reports to include maintenance projects

• Tracking and recording receipt of packages

• Superior laundry skills (hand-wash, steam, press using mangle)

• Kitchen maintenance, including granite countertops, copper sinks, marble floors, and kitchen cabinets

• Proper knowledge of cleaning and maintenance of high-end European appliances (washer, dryer, oven, refrigerator, TV, etc.)

• Wardrobe care, including seasonal clothes (casual wear, evening wear, couture, and shoes color-coded according to season)

• Organizing linen cabinets according to the number of bedrooms

The team at IDC will assist with the on-boarding process, coaching and contract negation.

Salary range: $70-$90k yearly
