A warm, respectful family located just outside Salem, North Carolina is seeking an experienced Housekeeper / Mother's Helper to support the day-to-day operation of their private residence. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a polished, hands-on professional who enjoys maintaining a beautiful home, assisting with light family logistics, and contributing to a calm, organized household.
The family lives on a private country estate and values discretion, kindness, professionalism, and common sense above all else. Their longtime employee recently retired after 13 years, and they are hoping to find someone looking for a similarly long-term commitment.
This is not a formal household. Rather, it is a quiet, peaceful, and respectful environment where everyone works together. Mrs. is incredibly warm, gracious, and hands-on around the home, but she also values her privacy and appreciates someone who instinctively knows when to engage and when to work independently.
The Position
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing many hats and takes pride in creating a beautifully maintained and well-organized home.
The schedule is generally:
Monday through Friday
7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Approximately 40 hours per week

The schedule is typically very consistent, although some flexibility is appreciated when household needs arise.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Complete housekeeping of a beautifully maintained four-bedroom residence.
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness throughout the home.
- Laundry, ironing, folding, and wardrobe care.
- Changing bed linens and maintaining guest rooms.
- Organizing closets, pantries, and household storage areas.
- Maintaining household inventories and supplies.
- Running errands, grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and miscellaneous household tasks.
- Preparing simple, healthy family meals and assisting with light meal preparation.
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Caring for the family's two friendly dogs, including feeding, ensuring fresh water is always available, scheduling veterinary appointments, and coordinating grooming when needed.
- Assisting with occasional transportation, including school drop-offs and pick-ups for the family's two teenagers (ages 16 and 14) and airport transportation when schedules allow.
- Helping coordinate household appointments and service providers.
- Supporting the overall organization and smooth daily operation of the home.
The Home
The family resides on a private country property with:
- Four-bedroom main residence
- Large finished basement
- Attic currently undergoing renovation
- Additional outbuildings
The property is peaceful and somewhat secluded, making it an ideal environment for someone who enjoys a quieter lifestyle.

Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a private household is strongly preferred.
- Excellent housekeeping and laundry skills.
- Basic cooking and meal preparation experience.
- Household management and organizational experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving children and running errands.
- Comfortable caring for family pets.
- Strong professional references with long-term tenure.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000–$105,000, depending on experience.
- Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week.
- Benefits package to be discussed during the interview process.
- Local candidates are preferred; however, relocation assistance may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
