Family Assistant / Housekeeper

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience
Travel: Domestic travel required with occasional international travel

A warm, welcoming, and respectful family in Jacksonville is seeking an experienced Family Assistant / Housekeeper to provide hands-on support with the day-to-day operation of their home. This role combines professional housekeeping with family assistant responsibilities and requires someone who is flexible, trustworthy, and able to anticipate the family's needs.

Primary Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Household Management

• Maintain the cleanliness and overall presentation of the residence to a high standard.
• Daily cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing.
• Laundry, ironing, steaming, folding, and wardrobe organization.
• Change bed linens and maintain guest rooms.
• Organize closets, pantries, cabinets, and storage areas.
• Monitor and restock household supplies.
• Assist with seasonal organization and household projects.
• Help coordinate vendors and service appointments as needed.

Family Assistant Responsibilities

• Run household errands, including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, post office visits, returns, and other miscellaneous tasks.
• Assist with family scheduling and household logistics.
• Help prepare the home before and after family travel.
• Pack and unpack luggage when traveling.
• Maintain household inventory and assist with shopping for household necessities.
• Provide occasional meal preparation or light food prep when requested.
• Assist with gift shopping, wrapping, and special family events.

Children
The family has two wonderful children, ages 7 and 9. While this is not a nanny position, the successful candidate should enjoy being around children and be comfortable providing occasional support, such as:

• Meeting service providers or supervising children briefly after school if needed.
• Assisting with transportation to activities on occasion.
• Helping keep children's bedrooms, play areas, and belongings organized.

Travel

The Family Assistant will accompany the family on domestic trips throughout the year, with occasional international travel. During travel, responsibilities will include helping maintain the household, unpacking and organizing, running errands, and ensuring the family's day-to-day needs are met.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a private home required.
• Professional housekeeping experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
• Comfortable driving children when needed.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Discreet, trustworthy, and able to maintain complete confidentiality.
• Positive attitude with a "no task too small" mentality.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally with the family as needed.
