Job Description: Hands-On House Manager/Handyman 

Location: Atherton, California/San Mateo, California 

Our clients are prominent billionaires, with small children who currently reside primarily in California and are seeking a dedicated and hands-on House Manager/Handyman. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the smooth operation and maintenance of their large, staffed home.  

The role is for someone with a 24/7 approach managing a large youthful dynamic family with children, pets, and an extremely busy entrepreneurial lifestyle. The family is friendly, positive, practical, and approachable. This is a fast-paced environment and there is no room for ego. Our clients are looking for someone who is willing to help wherever the need calls. 

  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • IT and SOP Management: Manage IT updates and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and household manuals specific to the family's requirements. 
  • Household Oversight: Take a proactive approach to managing a large family household, which includes children, pets, and supporting an entrepreneurial lifestyle. 
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate with housekeeping teams, chefs, and support staff for events hosted at the residence. 
  • Personal Assistance: Provide support to ensure the family's daily operations run smoothly, from food and beverage oversight to handling special requests. 
  • Maintenance Management: Oversee all aspects of property maintenance, including scheduling and supervising contractors such as plumbers, electricians, and inspectors. 

Candidate Profile: 

  • Experience: Previous experience in construction, project management, or a similar hands-on role. 
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in managing IT systems and implementing technological updates as required. 
  • Proactive Approach: Ability to take initiative, troubleshoot issues, and manage multiple tasks efficiently. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of interacting with vendors, architects, and other external parties professionally. 
  • Personality: Friendly, approachable, and practical. Our clients are practical, extremely busy and need an individual who will own the role and communicate directly with the support team and our clients. Clear communication is vital in this position. There is no room for ego. 
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to high-profile individuals, maintaining professionalism. 

Benefits and Compensation: 

  • Competitive salary: $140,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience. 
  • Additional benefits include structured bonuses, two weeks of paid vacation, and one week of sick leave.

  • Overtime compensation for hours worked beyond 40/50 hours per week.
