Experienced Laundress - Manhattan, NY - CLOSED

A lovely family in the upper east side of Manhattan, New York is seeking an exceptionally skilled laundress who is comfortable using professional-grade appliances. Experience with couture fabrics is a plus. Candidate should be responsible, self-motivated, have excellent previous tenure and exceptional wardrobe management skills.

The candidate should be able to coordinate the movement and tracking of clothing and related items between multiple properties. The home consists of 8 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms over 20,000 sq ft. Should be in excellent physical shape, as at times you will be required to move between the floors of the residence.

Attention to detail, the ability to repair a small tear, and to make suggestions about repairs or replacement when items become worn would be ideal qualities.

This position will require the management of all supplies related to the laundry room and the management of equipment for this large private residence.

If you enjoy doing laundry, are excellent at removing stains, can sew on a button, replace a zipper, have excellent ironing skills, and can manage the tracking of dry cleaning, you are the perfect candidate for our clients.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm

Salary: 80k-100k D.O.E.

Vacation: Standard 2 weeks’ vacation/1 week of sick leave

Must have a minimum of 3 years’ prior experience, a good command of English, and have excellent references.
