POSITION OVERVIEW

A distinguished private household in Manhattan, Upper E. Side is seeking two experienced and detail-oriented Housekeepers to join a professional, close-knit household team. This is an exceptional opportunity for candidates who take genuine pride in their craft and thrive in a formal, high-standard residential environment. Both positions report directly to the House Manager and carry responsibility for the meticulous care and presentation of a 20,000 square foot primary residence, with periodic travel to the owners’ additional seasonal properties as required. Please note that the home is a ten-story townhouse, so candidates must be in excellent physical condition and comfortable with a significant amount of walking and stairs throughout the day.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS

Position 1:  Thursday through Monday, 7:00am – 3:00pm

Position 2:  Sunday through Thursday, 12:00pm – 8:00pm

Both positions require flexibility to support holidays, special events, and travel to the owners’ seasonal residences as needed.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform daily fine housekeeping and thorough deep cleaning throughout the residence
• Laundry and ironing, including the careful handling of fine garments and luxury linens; weekend support of the laundress as required
• Formal table setting and serving for family meals, events, and private dining occasions
• Polishing and maintaining silver, flatware, trays, and serving pieces to the highest standard
• Fine surface care and the proper maintenance of antiques and delicate furnishings
• Deep cleaning of all bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces; methodical dusting of all surfaces throughout the residence
• Sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming of floors, carpets, rugs, and draperies
• Making beds, changing linens, and evening turndown service
• Deep cleaning of the private gym and all associated workout equipment
• Steaming and care of fine garments, towels, and bed linens as requested
• Liaison with the Chef and House Manager to restock refrigerators and the family pantry
• Assistance with packing, unpacking, and travel preparation for the owners
• Emptying trash and recycling in compliance with NYC recycling regulations
• Walking and feeding the family dog when in residence
• Reporting any necessary repairs or household replacements to the House Manager
• Light cooking as required

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Formal housekeeping experience within a private residence, luxury hotel, or estate environment
• Demonstrated ability to care for fine furnishings, antiques, silver, and luxury textiles
• Excellent attention to detail with consistently high personal standards
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Professional, discreet, and team-oriented disposition
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional travel as required

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is provided:

Health Insurance:  Full medical, dental, and vision coverage — effective after 90 days

Paid Time Off:  20 days PTO — available after 6 months
