A distinguished family in Palm Beaches is seeking a seasoned, Executive-level Housekeeper or Chief Stewardess (yachting background welcomed) to oversee all aspects of housekeeping, wardrobe management, and coordination of the housekeeping team.
This is a newly created position for a high-profile household that values discretion, privacy, and confidentiality. The service style is semi-formal—highly attentive and detail-oriented, with an elevated standard similar to “invisible service,” while still maintaining a warm and approachable presence.
The Family
The principals are busy professionals who primarily reside at the property during the season. They value a calm, quiet, and well-run home environment. They enjoy entertaining and especially cherish time spent with their children and grandchildren when they are in residence.
The Role
The Executive Housekeeper will take full ownership of interior operations, ensuring the home is maintained to the highest standard at all times. This individual will lead by example, elevate existing systems, and provide hands-on support as needed.
The primary residence is approximately 15,000 sq. ft., with an additional guest cottage 2,500 sq.ft and pool house 1,000 sq. ft. (including a studio 1000 sq ft). The household is supported by two housekeepers, along with a butler, chef, and driver.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all housekeeping operations across the estate
- Implement and maintain zone cleaning and seasonal deep-cleaning schedules
- Manage extensive wardrobe care, including rotation between multiple residences
- Maintain and organize inventories, including ordering and restocking supplies
- Schedule, onboard, and manage housekeeping staff
- Train and elevate team standards to a five-star level of service
- Ensure all areas of the home are maintained to impeccable standards
- Coordinate closely with other household staff to ensure seamless operations
- Assist with table setting, event preparation, and flower arrangements
- Maintain orchids and specialty plant care
- Assist service teams during events, ensuring smooth execution
- Work closely with catering teams and oversee onsite vendors
- Maintain and update guest profiles and preferences
- Assist Mrs. with preparation for events, wardrobe, and presentation
- Liaise with stylists and interior designers to execute requests
- Oversee proper storage and care of luxury items, including fine jewelry
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of custom finishes, furnishings, and materials
- Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
Candidate Profile
- Must be a true team player with a “no ego” approach
- Willing to step in wherever needed, especially during events and high-demand periods
- Extensive experience in high-end private homes or luxury hospitality/yachting
- Strong background in wardrobe management and garment care
- Proven leadership experience managing or building a housekeeping team
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and hands-on
- Adaptable, flexible, and solutions-oriented
- Clear understanding of boundaries and professionalism in a private home
- Comfortable with a 24/7 leadership mindset when required
- Conversational Spanish is a plus
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, with additional hours and flexibility required during season
- Approximately 40–50 hours per week, with adaptability based on household needs
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000–$150,000 (DOE)
