Wonderful opportunity for a seasoned housekeeper. This is a year-round position, live-in position in East Hampton, NY.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of consecutive experience working in a home to be considered. The present housekeeper has been with the family for the last 17 years and is retiring. This is a rare opportunity to work for wonderful, respectful people.
This home consists of the principals who are in their 70s. The home has 10 bedrooms, a guest cottage and is on the ocean. The principals do not entertain and do not have many guests. Mr. and Mrs. have two adorable grandchildren and when they visit in the summer months, the grandchildren stay in the guest house with their parents. There are no pets.
The principals travel to Palm Beach, Florida in the winter, and may occasionally ask for your support for up to two weeks there, and may also additionally request help at their apartment in NY.
Due to the present situation with COVID, the principals are asking that any candidates limit their travel to a minimum when the principals are in-residence at their home in East Hampton. The candidate must understand safe cleaning practices and be proactive in mitigating the chances of contracting the virus.
During the summer months, a normal week would consist of Monday through Friday/Saturday, 9-5, with flexibility. The summer is busier and it is expected you would be able to work longer hours. In the winter months when the family are in Florida, the housekeeper will have shorter days and can catch up on time owed from the summer months.
Must be a self-starter, have a clean driving background, and able to pass a criminal background & credit check, have verifiable references and must be legal to work in the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean, vacuum, manage laundry & dry cleaning, run errands, work with vendors and be comfortable managing vendors, simple cooking, must be able to drive, must have excellent English, be able to text and e-mail, send and receive packages, assist with packing and unpacking, wardrobe management.
COMPENSATION
$60,000.00 to $90,000.00 D/O/E
