Live-In, Full-Time Hands-on, House Manager - Tuxedo Park, NY

We are seeking a Full-Time Live-In Housekeeper for a lovely family in Tuxedo Park at their 9,000 sq. ft. home. The ideal candidate is hands-on, discreet, and highly organized.

From mid-July through August, the family of three are in residence most weekends, and you will be required to work. In the off season, the scheucle in Monday through Friday with flexability, normal 40 hour week. The family are private and cherich their down time. Having common sense is an essential trait - knowing who to be visible and invisible.

The family generally like to have the house 'guest ready' for their weeeknd arrival, and require little support. However, if family or friends visit basic meal prep/food and beverage service is required. They have a 7 year old little girl, who may require babysitting if the couple go out for dinner. Flexability is required.

Housing offered a separate studio apartment on the property with access to a car for work use. 

Occasionally, you may be asked to assist at one of the other homes (NYC / Hamptons - with advanced notice), or to cover another team member when they are on vacation. The ability to travel domestically and/or internationally with the family (generally never more than a week, a few times per year with advanced notice) is also a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Discretion and respect for privacy and confidentiality is essential.
  • Provide light and occasional deep cleaning for all living areas of the homes.
  • Ability to coordinate, schedule and manage with vendors. 
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to operate smart-home controls, order Ubers, and groceries online. 
  • Inventory management of household supplies.
  • Ability to cook simple family-style meals, including grocery shopping and occasional serving of dinner.
  • Running errands as needed.
  • Pet care (cats).
  • Occasional childcare (one child aged 7). 

Schedule:

  • Friday (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
    Typically, Fridays are spent preparing the country home for the family's arrival – grocery shopping, cooking a simple meal for four, serving, and cleaning up dishes afterward.

  • Saturday (7:00 AM – 8:00 PM with a 2-hour break from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
    On Saturdays and Sundays, you will make a light breakfast for the family, clean up the dishes, make beds, do laundry, iron, and do general cleaning of the house. The family might need assistance with preparing a lunch or light dinner (all simple meals, not fancy), and possibly driving the 7-year-old to golf lessons or play dates.

  • Sundays (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
    On Sundays, you will help the family load up the car and you will prep and clean the house for the following weekend.

  • Mondays and Tuesdays (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
    On Mondays and Tuesdays, you will do a deeper clean of the house, meet with various service vendors (pool, boiler repair, etc.), or attend to other projects such as household inventory, organizing, polishing silver, taking the cars for an inspection, etc.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Housekeeper or House Manager, preferably in a domestic setting.

Compensation:

  • $95,000 to $120,000 D/O/E, plus annual bonuses.
