Location: Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience ($180,000 - $200,000), private accommodation, healthcare, and annual return flight


Overview:

An exceptional opportunity is available for a seasoned Residential House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a prominent, high-end private residence in Ikoyi, one of Lagos’ most prestigious neighborhoods.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring proven expertise in managing luxury estates. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the household—ensuring flawless operation across all departments, from housekeeping and banqueting to guest services and staff management. A polished, proactive, and highly organized professional with a passion for service excellence will thrive in this environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Estate Operations & Oversight:

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of daily operations across the estate’s residential, recreational, guest, and entertainment areas.

  • Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness, functionality, and presentation throughout the home—including private quarters, guest wings, spa/gym, banqueting halls, and service areas.

  • Ensure the residence is always in a state of readiness for both private family use and high-level entertaining.

  • Manage all household systems including utilities, smart home technology, and security coordination.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal household matters, reporting directly to the principal.

Staff Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of domestic staff including housekeepers, chefs, stewards, drivers, gardeners, and the banqueting team.

  • Set and uphold service standards aligned with five-star private hospitality.

  • Oversee staff scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance management.

Hospitality & Guest Services:

  • Coordinate luxury-level service for visiting VIPs, dignitaries, and family guests.

  • Collaborate with outside vendors, event planners, and catering teams to execute formal receptions, family events, and spontaneous gatherings.

  • Ensure discretion, comfort, and hospitality for all household visitors.

Administrative & Financial Management:

  • Manage household budgets, vendor contracts, service level agreements, and expense reporting.

  • Track inventory, coordinate procurement, and oversee vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost control.

  • Liaise with maintenance and security teams to ensure seamless support, safety, and preventative care of the property.

Privacy, Protocol, & Professionalism:

  • Maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion at all times.

  • Enforce household privacy policies, access controls, and guest protocols.

  • Prepare for and manage crisis or emergency situations with calm and precision.


Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing private estates, ambassadorial residences, or UHNW households.

  • Proven track record in high-level household operations, staff management, and luxury hospitality.

  • Previous international experience (Africa, Middle East, or top-tier luxury markets) highly preferred.

  • While English is the official language, native tounge of Hausa, Yoruba, or Igbo is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; formal training in hospitality or estate management a plus.

  • Culturally aware, discreet, and committed to long-term service excellence.
