A Wonderful Long-Term Opportunity

A wonderful, kind, and very family-oriented couple in Frenchman's Creek, Palm Beach Gardens is seeking an experienced Housekeeper/Cook to join their household on a long-term basis.

What really speaks volumes about this family is the longevity of the people who work for them. Their current Housekeeper has been with them for approximately 17 years and is only leaving to return to her home country to care for her family. Other employees have been with the family for more than 20 years.

They are genuinely hoping to find another special person who will become part of their household and stay with them for the next 15–20+ years.

The couple is organized, generous, respectful, and very appreciative of the people who support them. Personality and energy are incredibly important. They are looking for someone who is sweet, loyal, positive, respectful, naturally in a good mood, and understands the boundaries and parameters of working within a private home.

The Family & Properties

The household consists primarily of Mr. and Mrs., who both work from home. They are very family-centric and have four adult children ranging in age from 21 to 29, currently living between London, Manhattan, Chicago, and Jupiter. Their son in Jupiter is married and recently welcomed a new baby.

The family divides its time between two residences:

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida – Located in Frenchman's Creek, the main residence is approximately 5,500 square feet with four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. An additional approximately 1,500 square feet is expected to be added next year.

Potomac, Maryland – Approximately 9,000 square feet with six bedrooms and excellent private staff accommodations.

The Housekeeper/Cook would travel with the couple between Florida and Maryland.

The Position

This is very much a hands-on Housekeeper/Cook position. The family is looking for someone who takes genuine pride in keeping a beautiful home exceptionally clean, neat, and organized while also being comfortable preparing simple, fresh, healthy meals.

The cooking is not complicated or formal. There are no elaborate multi-course meals or formal service requirements. The couple enjoys healthy, uncomplicated food prepared well.

A normal day may begin around 7:30 AM with making and serving coffee, preparing a simple breakfast such as eggs or pancakes, emptying trash, wiping down the kitchen, organizing the primary bedroom, laundry, and general housekeeping.

Mrs. is extremely neat and organized and appreciates someone who naturally has the same attention to detail—someone who notices the little things and enjoys keeping everything in its place.

There is generally a break during the late morning before lunch. Lunch is simple, often a sandwich for Mr. and a salad for Mrs., followed by another break during the afternoon.

Later in the day, dinner could be as simple as taking something prepared from the freezer and warming it, or making a fresh piece of grilled fish or chicken with a salad or vegetables.

It is a very manageable lifestyle for someone who understands the rhythm of a private household and can organize their day appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on daily housekeeping
• Maintaining a beautifully clean, neat, and organized home
• Laundry, linens, and clothing care
• Primary bedroom and bathroom organization
• Kitchen organization and cleanup
• Preparing breakfast, lunch, and simple healthy dinners
• Grocery shopping and household provisioning
• Maintaining food and household inventories
• Running errands as needed
• Packing and unpacking when traveling between residences
• Supporting the couple in both Florida and Maryland
• Coordinating with additional housekeeping help when necessary
• Maintaining complete privacy and discretion
• Remaining flexible when children, grandchildren, or guests are visiting

The family is very reasonable and is more than happy to bring in additional housekeeping assistance when needed, particularly when the homes are busy.

Schedule & Flexibility

The schedule is generally Monday through Friday with weekends off.

The days are structured around the couple's lifestyle, with breaks throughout the day rather than expecting someone to work continuously from morning through evening.

As with any private household position, flexibility is important. There may occasionally be a weekend, holiday, family visit, or special occasion when additional support is needed. The family understands the give-and-take involved and is very respectful of the people who work for them.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal person will have prior private household experience and be a confident, comfortable home-style cook.

More importantly, the family is looking for someone who is:

Mrs. speaks fluent Spanish, so perfect English is not essential. Basic conversational English and the ability to communicate household needs would be sufficient.

Driving would certainly be an advantage; however, it is not an absolute requirement for the right person.

Housing

The family provides wonderful private accommodations.

Florida: A private casita with a bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, and kitchen.

Maryland: A private studio-style suite with its own kitchen and bathroom.

The family is also open to candidates who prefer to live out and come in daily.

For an exceptional candidate who may already have a home in Maryland but does not have housing in Florida, the couple would also be open to discussing off-site housing in Florida.

Again, this speaks to how flexible and accommodating they are in trying to find the right person.

Compensation & Benefits

$80,000–$85,000 per year, depending upon experience

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Prior private household experience is strongly preferred.
