EXPERIENCED House Manager / Estate Manager

Essential Requirements:

Experienced House Manager is needed for a beautiful estate in New England. The residence is remote and sits on acreage surrounded by white picket fences. There are outbuildings and stunning landscaping, and it is in pristine condition year-round. Our client, a senior single lady, is looking for a manager who can manage the team of ladies and will coordinate all landscaping and structural repairs and projects. This is an intimate role, and our cleint is looking for a candidate who she can relate to and confide in

The household requires a dedicated, extremely detailed, and professional house manager. The role requires the ability to communicate clearly.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Management: Principals’ primary residence in Connecticut.
  • Leadership: Oversees a team of ladies, including hiring, training, and supervising.  
  • Implementation and logging of household standards, systems, and protocols.
    • Creating maintenance schedules for houses and equipment – ensuring schedules are adhered to by staff and contractors. 
    • Oversee household files.
    • Organizing and managing all household inventories/property inventories.
    • In-home event planning as needed. 
  • Become the point of contact for external contractors and external service providers. 
  • Highly organized administratively. Must prepare weekly, monthly, and year-end reports. 
  • Manage scheduling of international travel. 
  • Direct and manage chef and oversee all aspects of food and beverage.
  • Initiate laundry and housekeeping support, manuals, and schedules.

Requirements: 

  • At least ten years prior house manager experience with stellar, verifiable references.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to anticipate next steps without supervision. Solution and detail-oriented.
  • Tech-savvy and interested in new, tech-based solutions.
  • Proficient calendaring abilities.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to be available 24/7 by phone or email for emergencies.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Loyalty, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Extensive background check is required. 
  • Construction project experience

    Salary Range: $140,000 to $160,000 for qualified candidates but negotiable. Medical benefits package/housing stipend/staff vehicle will be provided. First-class checkable references and Non-Smokers are essential.
