Household Facilities Technician
A private family is seeking an experienced, hands-on Household Facilities Technician to assist with the ongoing care, maintenance, and overall operation of their residence.
The ideal candidate is a capable, proactive professional who takes pride in maintaining a property to a high standard. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable performing day-to-day maintenance personally while also overseeing outside vendors and service providers when specialized work is required.
The primary focus of the position is daily, hands-on maintenance of the property and ensuring the residence remains well-maintained, organized, and guest-ready at all times.
Compensation

Approximately $40/hour, with final rate to be determined based on experience

Responsibilities

Perform daily hands-on maintenance throughout the residence and property

Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues

Address general repairs and minor maintenance involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fixtures, and other household systems

Monitor the overall condition and functionality of household equipment and mechanical systems

Assist with exterior property maintenance, including landscaping, seasonal needs, pool areas, and grounds

Coordinate and oversee outside vendors, contractors, and service providers when necessary

Ensure vendor work is completed properly, efficiently, and to the expected standard

Maintain organized storage, tools, equipment, and household maintenance supplies

Assist with household inventories and ensure necessary supplies are properly stocked

Work collaboratively with other household staff and management

Assist with preparations for family gatherings, guests, and special events as needed

Provide general property support, errands, and assistance based on the needs of the household
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative. They should be resourceful, organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working independently while also functioning as part of a household team.
A strong candidate will have the ability to determine when a maintenance issue can be handled personally and when an outside professional should be brought in.
Qualifications

Previous experience in residential property maintenance, facilities maintenance, estate maintenance, or a related field

Strong hands-on maintenance and general repair skills

Working knowledge of residential systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, and AV

Experience coordinating and overseeing vendors and contractors

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues proactively

Comfortable using technology for communication, scheduling, documentation, and property management

Professional, dependable, discreet, and respectful of privacy

Ability to work collaboratively with household staff and management
