Live-In Domestic Couple_New York City, NY - PLACED
We are seeking an experienced live-in Domestic Couple for a lovely family in New York City, NY.
The couple is in their 50s with four children, two in college and two teenagers still living at home. The college students visit the home frequently, so there is good foot traffic throughout the home regularly. There are no pets. The couple owns a vacation home in Upstate New York, where they like to visit on the weekends and hold family events and social gatherings. The ideal couple will be open to traveling to the guest home and helping with the maintenance and cleanliness of the home, along with providing extra sets of hands for the special events held on the property. A couple comfortable with cooking and meal prep is a must; Kosher is strongly preferred to accommodate the Jewish family. The home is casual to semi-formal, with a small existing staff consisting of an Executive Housekeeper, Personal Driver, and Personal Family Assistant.
The family travels regularly during the summer season. Several months out of the summer, and during certain holidays, the family might be away visiting friends and family for 2-3 weeks at a time. During this time, the live-in domestic couple is expected to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the home, receive any packages and mail, manage vendors, maintain household inventory, etc.
The couple will have a section of the home to themselves: one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a private living area.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper in the daily cleanliness and sanitation of the home.
- Maintain household inventories.
- Schedule and manage vendors.
- Run errands, grocery shop, and assist the family driver where needed.
- Handyman work – Diagnose and repair household devices and electronics, etc.
- Travel to the family’s vacation rental in upstate New York and assist with family get-togethers, cooking, cleaning, etc.
- Prepare for guests and entertainment.
- Assist with packing and unpacking.
- In-home plant care.
- Calendar management.
- Fill in for Family Personal Assistant when needed.
- House-sitting when the family is not present.
- Duties will vary.
Requirements:
- Must be polished, poised, and professional, use of utmost discretion and confidentiality always.
- Strong command of the English language, with excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- High proficiency in all aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, and unique surfaces
- The ideal candidate will be able to assist in the overall smooth running of the household.
Compensation:
Salary: $160k - $180k
