Estate Management Domestic Couple

Location: Los Angeles, California

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced friendly Domestic Couple to oversee a prestigious 18-acre property in wine country, with a 15,000 square foot main residence and several outbuildings located in Santa Ynez Valley, California. The ideal candidates will possess formal chef training along with extensive experience in providing white-glove service.

Our clients are in their 80’s in great shape, work at their company daily, friendly, and live busy lives. They have grown children, and grandchildren who will visit for weekends, and some holidays. At times throughout the year some of the corporate team may visit for a retreat or business meeting.  

Responsibilities:

  1. Property Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the entire property, including landscaping, gardening, pool maintenance, and general upkeep. There is a full-time maintenance/grounds manager living on site who maintains and manages exterior vendors.
    • Coordinate with interior contractors and vendors for repairs and renovations, as needed. All contractors have been preapproved vendors. The property is part of a global portfolio of properties. Clear communication between the maintenance/grounds manager, interior designers and the family corporate office in LA would be essential. 
    • Implement and maintain security protocols to ensure the safety of the property and its inhabitants.
    • Must have excellent administrative skills, be technical savvy and communicate clearly in spoken and written English. Having Spanish would be advantageous.
  2. Housekeeping:
    • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the main residence and outbuildings to the highest standards. The home is new, and the residents will spend weekends – totaling about three months a year in residence. The property should always be maintained in guest ready status.
    • Manage laundry and wardrobe care, including delicate fabrics and specialty items. The principals will bring their butlers, and lady’s maid when visiting on most occasions, however it could be necessary to support both as lady’s maid and butler at times, maintaining a white glove level of service.
    • Coordinate with additional staff members as necessary to ensure seamless household operations of changes in the couples preferences and maintain shared SOP’s between the different teams.
  3. Culinary Services:
    • Utilize formal chef training to prepare high-quality meals for the residents and guests, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
    • Plan menus for daily meals, special events, and entertaining, incorporating seasonal ingredients and diverse cuisines. There is a stunning chefs garden on site with herbs, vegetables and extensive fruit gardens.
    • Provide white-glove butler service during mealtimes, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.
    • Manage an extensive wine cellar and maintain stocks.
  4. Hospitality and Guest Relations:
    • Welcome and accommodate guests with warmth and hospitality, ensuring their comfort throughout their stay.
    • Coordinate guest arrivals and departures, including transportation arrangements, unpacking and packing and activity planning activiites on site and to near by attractions. 
    • Assist with event planning and execution, from intimate gatherings to large-scale functions.
    • Having a knowledge of wine and grapes would be an advantage as the family have a small winery on-site, and an extensive garden. Mrs. likes to utilize what’s grown on property when visiting.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    • Manage household finances, including budgeting, expense tracking, and bill payment.
    • Maintain household inventories for supplies, groceries, and equipment, replenishing as needed.
    • Handle correspondence, scheduling, and other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar domestic couple role, preferably within a high-profile or luxury estate environment.
  • Formal culinary training with demonstrated expertise in preparing gourmet meals and providing white-glove service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Discretion and respect for privacy are essential, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Valid driver's licenses and clean driving records are required.
  • Must be in excellent physical share and able to work long hours when the principals are in-residence.  
  • Must have outstanding verifiable references, with proven tunure. 
  • Must pass a detailed background screening.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary $225,000 to $250,000 with full benefits.
  • A private house is provided on the property. All expenses are covered.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday when principals are not in residence. Flexibility to work weekends is necessary when the senior couple visit.
  • Monday through Friday, 40 -50 hours a week
