A lovely, A-list fashion celebrity couple in Manhattan seeks to hire a hands-on youthful domestic couple with proven tenure. The role is in New York City, caring for a beautiful five-bedroom, 3,500 sq ft apartment.
The couple has two children – a 15-month-old and a 6.5-year-old. Currently, the family has a live-in nanny with whom you will work. The home is informal, but the perfect couple will be confident working in a formal and relaxed environment. The couple entertains often and has celebrity friends over, usually for dinner.
The family is looking for a couple who have common sense, are practical, can self-manage, and take the initiative. They expect the perfect candidates to be able to communicate clearly and effectively, in writing and verbally.
A 24/7 mindset in this role would be necessary, as the couple is often invited out to dinner with short notice and would need coverage watching their children. A positive, proactive approach would be a desirable characteristic. Mr. is open to onboarding additional support staff as required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- All aspects of housekeeping, including daily cleaning, making beds, laundry, dry cleaning management, cooking, setting the table for dinner parties, greeting and welcoming guests, and screening and managing vendors.
- Assisting with vehicle maintenance and detailing, running errands, and stocking all supplies at the property. Additionally, part of the role will be driving the family to the airport or a restaurant.
- Assisting in all aspects of childcare, including coordinating play dates, driving the kids to and from school, facilitating after-school activities, walking the baby, and assisting with homework – managing the children’s calendar; taking ownership of their daily routines with complete oversite.
- Exceptional organization and professionalism are a must. As the principles are both in the fashion industry, the perfect couple will have excellent wardrobe management skills, an eye for detail, color coordination, and all clothing repairs and maintenance.
- Prior experience working with a family in the fashion industry or having a background in design would be highly desirable - the family often works with stylists.
- Should be tech-savvy and confident using innovative home technology. Prior experience working with interior designers and architects is desirable. Previous experience with NYC building permits and regulations is highly desirable.
- Dinner parties are common – managing catering, hiring sourcing chefs, and support staff.
- Family-style meal prep, maintenance of pantry, and kitchen inventories.
- Ensure the children have three meals daily and the fridge is always stocked. Should be able to manage the children and support staff.
- Must present well, have excellent personal hygiene, and be physically healthy.
