BACKGROUND
Seasoned Domestic Couple needed for E. Hampton residence. The main house has approximately 10,000 sq. ft. There is also a guest house on the property. This is an amazing opportunity to work for a kind, considerate senior couple who appreciate hard work. Due to COVID, the principals are not going out and limiting anyone coming into their home.
The principals’ present staff have been with the family for close to twenty years. Having tenure in your previous roles is appreciated and a definite advantage. Our clients are private (not visibly social). During the summer months, they use their E. Hampton residence to relax and enjoy their two grandchildren who visit for two weeks in the summer. During this time, the principals commute between their Park Avenue apartment during the week and their E. Hampton retreat at the weekends. In the fall, they normally return to their Florida residence.
The summertime is busy when the principals are in-residence. Six days a week coverage will be expected. During the winter months, our clients travel south to their home in Florida. At that time, you can re-coop any overtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the summer months
- Clean the inside and exterior of the house
- Set-up of seasonal decor, winterizing the property where appropriate, preparing for hurricanes and procedures
- Changing light bulbs
- Setting the fireplace
- Troubleshooting electronics
- Making sure that all systems are operational at all times, including all aspect of smart home technology
- Wardrobe maintenance to include: laundry, dry cleaning and wardrobe management
- Care and maintenance of vehicles
- Taking messages, tracking packages, and running errands
- Cook a small dinner party from time-to-time
- Be able to set and serve a beautiful table
- Drive the principals at times to the city, or dinner
- Full responsibility for the property and guest house
- Fully responsible for property maintenance - preventative and immediate, having a 24/7 mentality
- Sharing end-of-day reports to the principal when they are in-residence and communicating clearly with the principals when they are elsewhere about any impending repairs
- Understand confidentiality, privacy, trust, and loyalty
- Being familiar with the Hamptons and NYC is an advantage, along with the flexibility to support once-a-month at our clients’ Park Ave residence
- Must have a long-term commitment in mind
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English
- Should have texting, e-mailing, and basic calendar-management skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal couple must have a minimum of 5 years working together consistently as a couple, and have excellent verifiable references. This is a newly created position. You would be part of a team, supporting the executive housekeeper who travels with the principals to their winter residence in Florida. The ideal couple must get on well with others; be respectful of vendors and the established support staff. The ideal couple will need to pass a criminal and credit check.
Due to COVID, our clients want to find a couple who are willing to take the appropriate precautions when in public and understand safe cleaning practices.
HOURS AND BENEFITS
Salary Range: $150,000+ for highly qualified candidates.
