A retired couple based on a large private hunting lodge in Columbus, Georgia is seeking an experienced and professional Domestic Couple to oversee the care, maintenance, and daily operation of their estate. The family frequently welcomes seasonal hunting guests and extended families during the holidays, creating a warm and lively household environment centered around Southern hospitality and tradition.
The property includes a 12,000 sq. ft. main residence, a 3,000 sq. ft. guest house, and two additional guest cabins, all set within scenic acreage featuring lakes, rivers, wooded trails, and open pastures. This hands-on role is ideal for a proactive, trustworthy couple comfortable managing both the interior operations and outdoor maintenance of a high-end, multi-structured property.
In addition to the main estate, the principals maintain a private apartment at the St. Regis Buckhead in Atlanta, which requires monthly oversight visits to ensure it remains organized, serviced, and guest-ready at all times.
The couple should be confident working in a farm-style environment with livestock, quail, and deer, and have mechanical and technical proficiency to maintain 4-wheelers, tractors, small watercraft, and utility vehicles. The principals typically travel for Christmas but spend Thanksgiving and the fall hunting season at their Columbus estate.

Key Responsibilities
Household & Hospitality
- Maintain the main residence (12,000 sq. ft.), guest house (3,000 sq. ft.), and two guest cabins to impeccable standards.
- Perform detailed housekeeping, laundry, and linen care.
- Assist with meal preparation, light cooking, and table service during family visits and hunting weekends.
- Maintain an organized, guest-ready home with a focus on warmth and hospitality.
- Maintain all smart home equipment - Control 4, home theatre, security systems.
- Manage household inventories and supply procurement.
Property & Grounds Oversight
- Oversee farm and hunting lodge operations, including maintenance, repairs, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain lakes, riverbanks, trails, and landscaping year-round.
- Oversee pool maintenance, including filter changes, water balancing, and seasonal closing/winterizing.
- Service and maintain small outboard watercraft, ensuring they are clean and operational for the summer season.
- Maintain 4-wheelers, tractors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Support livestock and wildlife care (quail, deer, etc.) and upkeep of barns or outbuildings.
- Monitor property systems, gates, and lighting to ensure safety and efficiency. St. Regis Apartment Oversight (Atlanta)
- Conduct monthly visits to the family’s apartment at the St. Regis Buckhead.
- Inspect for cleanliness, maintenance needs, and organization.
- Coordinate with vendors and housekeeping services, ensuring the apartment is always guest ready.
Administrative & Logistical Support
- Manage errands, local sourcing, and deliveries.
- Oversee contractor scheduling, budgeting, and project follow-up.
- Maintain regular communication with the principals and estate management team.
Ideal Candidates
- Experienced Domestic or Estate Couple with 5+ years in private service or lodge management.
- Skilled in both household operations and property maintenance.
- Mechanically inclined and confident maintaining vehicles, pools, and boats.
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Flexible to work weekends and holidays during family visits.
- Comfortable around livestock, pets, and hunting environments.
- Discreet, dependable, and team-oriented.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid driver’s licenses and clean driving records.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Excellent long-term private household references.
- Ability to live on-site or nearby (housing or stipend provided).
- Willingness to travel monthly to Atlanta for apartment oversight.
