Domestic Couple – Full-Time Estate Support

Location: McLean, Virginia (with support across additional family properties)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours per week
Compensation: $180,000–$210,000 per year (combined) - Live out

A distinguished and very approachable, friendly, and respectful family in McLean, Virginia is seeking an experienced Domestic Couple to oversee the care and maintenance of their beautifully restored historical landmark residence. Although the family is warm and easy to work with, they lead very busy lives and are seeking a proactive, self-managing couple who can anticipate needs, maintain high standards, and keep the household running smoothly with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities

Household Management & Housekeeping

• Full-charge housekeeping for a pristine, historically significant home

• Daily cleaning, laundry, organization, and wardrobe care

• Maintaining household inventories, storage areas, and purchasing supplies

• Light cooking and simple, healthy meal preparation

• Event set-up, breakdown, hospitality, and guest support

Property, Grounds & Facilities Support

• Vendor management and coordination (contractors, landscapers, specialty trades)

• Routine property inspections; identifying and addressing issues before they escalate

• Light handyman tasks (basic plumbing, electrical, troubleshooting, small repairs)

• Seasonal and exterior tasks such as blowing leaves, cleaning gutters, and minor yard upkeep

• Care and maintenance of all vehicles and watercraft (cleaning, fueling, scheduling service)

• Running errands, pickups, and general household logistical support

• The family have a dog, must be comfortable with pet care

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Domestic Couple in a private home (historical property experience a plus)

• Excellent tenure and proven reliability in past long-term roles

• Minimum of three recent professional references

• Ability to self-manage and work proactively with minimal oversight

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Physically fit and capable of hands-on household and grounds tasks

• Light cooking ability and comfort with meal prep

• Skilled in general handyman/maintenance tasks

• Respectful, discreet, professional, and team-oriented

• Valid driver’s licenses; clean driving record
