A private household based in Whittier, North Carolina is seeking an experienced and professional Domestic Couple to join their household team.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a trustworthy and proactive couple who can oversee the daily care, maintenance, and smooth operation of a private estate. The couple will manage all aspects of housekeeping, laundry, groundskeeping, pet and livestock care, errands, property oversight, and hospitality support when the principals are in residence.
The position requires flexibility, discretion, and a hands-on approach. The start date is flexible for the right candidates.

The couple will be married in the near future and plan to host their wedding at the property, so event management and hospitality skills would be highly valued. They also maintain additional homes across the United States and intend to expand their property portfolio in the coming years. This position, however, is specific to their North Carolina residence.
The couple do not have children, though family members from the Midwest visit periodically, and the household maintains a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed housekeeping and organization of the main residence and guest spaces.
- Manage laundry and linen care, including ironing, stain removal, and fabric care.
- Support with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and pantry stocking; occasional serving or light cooking when the principals are in residence.
- Handle groundskeeping, including gardens, lawns, trails, and seasonal tasks such as light snow removal.
- Conduct basic maintenance and coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for major projects.
- Oversee household systems, security, and property operations, ensuring the estate runs smoothly in the principals’ absence.
- Provide hospitality support for family and guest visits, maintaining a warm and professional atmosphere.
- Manage errands and local sourcing, including supply shopping and deliveries.
- Provide pet and small livestock care (cats, chickens, goats, koi fish), including feeding and upkeep of pastures or barn areas.
- Maintain clear communication with the principals and Estate Manager/ Director of Residences to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Should be mechanically minded and able to maintain mechanical systems, engage vendors as necessary, manage landscape and support workers, maintain manage and direct.
- Oversee expansion of out-building as they will be converted into additional office space.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid driver’s licenses and clean driving records.
- Minimum 5+ years of related experience, with at least 2 years in a private household.
- Excellent references from prior private employment.
- Comfortable working around pets and livestock.
- Ability to live on-site or nearby.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $180,000 – $260,000 annually (combined, based on experience).
- Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
- Paid vacation and holidays.
- Flexible work schedule. Monday - Friday, with possible weekend coverage from time to time.
