Domestic Couple - Hamptons, NY - CLOSED
Our European clients are looking for a 'Domestic Couple' to support their formal household in The Hamptons. The property is substantial and is to be maintained to the highest standards at all times. The family is only in residence for a few weeks during the year. The ideal couple will take initiative and can self-manage.
The family would like to find a couple willing to work longer hours and for extended periods when in residence, recuperating any extra hours/days worked at their discretion when the family is not at home.
The family has three dogs that travel with them and three teenage children. The children occasionally visit alone.
Monday - Friday when the family are not in residence, 45 hour week
Extreme flexability when the family are in residence
Duties will include and are interchangeable but are not limited to:
- Driver to include vehicle maintenance, cleaning and scheduling services /insurance etc
- Cooking ranging from family level to a gourmet dinner party (can be either of the couples)
- Ironing- washing and wardrobe management to include delicate fabric care and basic sewing
- Excellent communication skills, must work well with others and respect outside vendors and contractors
- Support, initiate and maintain vendor contracts
- Packing and unpacking, support wardrobe management, support laundry and dry cleaning managment
- Silver cleaning, care of fine china and crystal
- All cleaning/ housekeeping tasks for the household
- Serving at table, formal, white-glove service. Additional Butler duties
- Minor property maintenance when required
- Understand seasonal maintenance, pro-active approach to maintenance
- Care of outside furniture, cleaning, storage, and care of the terraces
- A formal uniform will be provided and will need to be worn at all times when the family is in residence
- Inventory of the household, wine cellar, etc.
- On-site supervision of all external contractors, vendors, and suppliers, including contract garden team.
- Flexible work hours when the family are in residence
- Assist with dog care, feed, groom as requested
- Calendar Management
- Must be tech-savvy
- Minimum 5 years of experience working together as a couple with excellent references
- Must have experience with seasonal property management
- Prior work experience in the Hamptons would be advantageous
- Exceleltn varifable references
- Pass a detailed background check
