Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) | Companion Support for Elderly Couple

Location: Atlanta, GA 30307
Schedule: 40 hours per week | Rotational Schedule – Two weekends per month required, rotating with the other caregiver. Generally 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with two one-hour breaks.
Compensation: $30–$35 per hour, based on experience

Overview

A warm and compassionate daughter and her husband are seeking a dedicated and proactive Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA or medically experienced candidate with wonderful tenure.) to assist in the daily care of their beloved parents, who are both experiencing mild cognitive decline.

Both parents remain mobile, engaged, and capable of feeding themselves. They enjoy family time, watching the grandchildren play, going for drives, and visiting their favorite spots (especially Chick-fil-A).

The ideal caregiver will have a long-term mindset, a kind and patient demeanor, and a genuine love for supporting seniors in a dignified, respectful, and joyful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily companionship and gentle structure for both parents
  • Assist with morning routines: 8am start - prepare breakfast, help Mrs. with dressing, and assist Mr. with shaving and light grooming
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks related to their personal spaces — making beds, tidying bedrooms, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and common areas
  • Prepare and serve simple, home-style meals (breakfast and lunch, often enjoyed in front of the TV)
  • Support incontinence care with compassion and discretion
  • Encourage mobility and engagement through short outings, drives, or walks
  • Follow daily task lists or schedules provided by the family
  • Communicate observations and updates to the family promptly and professionally
  • Work collaboratively with the housekeeper who assists during afternoon hours

Qualifications

  • Current and valid CNA certification in the state of Georgia
  • This is a very active, non-sitting position. The candidate must be physically fit, confident using a gait belt and Hoyer lift, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Clear command of English required (Mr. is of British origin)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience providing senior care; dementia support preferred
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing disposition with strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable following structured routines or task lists
  • Experience with incontinence care and assisting with personal hygiene needs
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for short local outings
  • Commitment to reliability, punctuality, and long-term consistency
