A wonderful senior couple is looking for a trust-worthy, friendly and reliable companion for Mrs., who has early onset dementia. The companion should be neat, compassionate, discreet, flexible and willing to assist the other staff in place. The ideal candidate should have experience and sensitivity when dealing with dementia, demonstrating competence, judgement and discretion.
Responsibilities
Keep an eye on and assist the client, as needed
Drive the client to medical appointments
Assist the client with dressing, make-up, jewelry, and styling hair
Ensuring daily medications are administered, and that there is always a reserve of medications
Basic cooking skills, heating up soup or making a simple salad
Willing to assist housekeepers when family or friends visit
Managing a daily diary
Must be tech savvy with the ability to text, e-mail, and take messages clearly
Excellent references
Must pass a detailed criminal background check
Clean driver's license
Non-smoker
Medical experience required
Full-time companion
$25-30 per hour, depending on experience
Only candidates with prior, relevant experience will be considered for this position
