A lovely couple in Brookhaven with a large home is looking for a housekeeper with medical training.
Our clients are visible in the community and are looking for someone with tenure and long-term intent. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, honest, trustworthy, cultured, detailed, love helping others, have an immaculate presentation, enjoy cleaning and supporting all aspects of a highly visible home, and most importantly, take care of their 90-year-old father.
The property consists of a three-story home with an adjoining pool cottage. The cottage is where the clients’ father resides, and this where a candidate will live with her own bedroom and a shared bathroom.
During the day, the candidate’s primary role is to ensure that our clients’ father is cared for and safe at all times. Although 90 years old, the father is independent and gets around the home with his walker but does need help bathing, dressing, and possibly using the lavatory. He is cognitively very sharp and independent. A candidate who understands Arabic culture will get preference, as this gentleman is of Arabic descent.
The home is used for visible social events, entertaining social dignitaries, and political events. Having an understanding of international cultures and protocol is an advantage.
Daily responsibilities
- Assist with general housekeeping duties (There is a team of housekeepers who come in every second week to do heavy cleaning. Outside vendors support heavy cleaning, exterior cleaning, window cleaning, etc.)
- Prepare food for our clients’ father is part of the role. His palate is simple; he eats a sandwich and fruit for lunch and fruit. Dinner is simple and can be ordered from a restaurant.
- Oversee the father’s daily medications, and not running out of medicine.
- Set and serve the table
- Manage calendars, as our clients have busy lives and want to make sure that their father doesn't miss any medical appointments etc.
- Assist with maintaining the home’s cleanliness

Skills and qualifications
- Communicate clearly
- Be a team player
- Must have five years previous experience and have verifiable employer references
- Must pass a drug test
- Ideally have medical training

Schedule
Monday – Friday
40 – 50-hour week with flexibility

$25-$35 hourly D/O/E
