Valet / Assistant Butler - PLACED
Excellent opportunity for a position as professional Butler/Valet for a wonderful employer. Applicants will support the long-tenured Head Butler and House Manager. Candidate who has graduated from the British Butler Institute or the International Butler Academy would be a wonderful addition to this experienced team.
This household is run like clockwork: formal, respectful; a great opportunity to join an experienced team and to further one’s career.
The property has a 40,000 square ft. main residence with adjacent buildings located throughout the property. Employer entertains dignitaries from around the world, hosting large formal galas. Philanthropic fundraising events occur four or five times through the year. This is a fully staffed home. Candidates should have a team player mentality.
Our clients are relaxed but prefer formality at this residence. Travel is part of this role, as clients have other homes worldwide.
We are looking for candidates who understand a formal butler’s responsibilities and possesses the following qualities:
• Outstanding references from both current and previous employers. References will be verified.
• Superb command of the English language, both written and oral.
• Understands that the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion are required.
• General understanding of household mechanical systems, appliances, technology, and routine maintenance practices for these systems.
• Superior process, project, and time-management skills.
• Low key, meticulous, personable character.
• Must be a self-starter.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility in scheduling with availability to work overtime and weekends as needed. A 24/7 mentality.
• Valid driver’s license with a perfect driving record.
• Legal to work in the United States.
• Able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal and credit checks.
• Able to support the purchase of gifts; develop and maintain gift tracker, review and audit receipts.
• Can support travel concierge services.
• Plan and coordinate children and family activities/events.
• Assist with personal archival projects.
• Dry cleaning, prescriptions, household supplies, heavy lifting, initialing cleaning when food and beverage service is not needed.
• Able to assist with shipping packages, managing and tracking returns.
• Personal shopping, as requested.
