TEMPORARY BUTLER / VALET & HOUSEHOLD CONSULTANT

Nashville, Tennessee | 1–2 Month Contract
$700–$800 Per Day | 5 Days Per Week
Private Housing + Vehicle + Relocation Provided

POSITION OVERVIEW

A wonderful private gentleman based in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly organized Butler/Valet & Household Consultant for a temporary one- to two-month engagement.

The principal is a friendly, approachable, and relatively informal gentleman who maintains a fast-paced lifestyle and places a high value on organization, quality, efficiency, and attention to detail. He maintains a primary residence in Nashville, a large ranch approximately one hour outside of the city, and an additional residence in Miami.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Butler, Valet, Household Manager, Estate Manager, or private-service professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects and creating order, consistency, and elevated standards within a private household.

The primary focus of the engagement will be wardrobe management, organization, decluttering, purchasing, household presentation, and creating consistency between residences. There will also be an important household-management component, including staff oversight, scheduling, training, and ensuring outstanding items throughout the residences are identified and completed.

This is not an overly formal household. However, the principal moves within prominent social and business circles and may attend meetings and events involving senior executives, dignitaries, and heads of state. The successful candidate should therefore understand both refined casual dressing and formal/bespoke menswear, while being equally comfortable sourcing quality everyday clothing online.

WARDROBE & VALET RESPONSIBILITIES

A significant portion of this assignment will involve assessing and reorganizing the principal's wardrobe following recent lifestyle changes and weight loss.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting a comprehensive review and organization of the principal's existing wardrobe
  • Decluttering closets and identifying clothing that should be retained, altered, replaced, donated, gifted, or sold
  • Coordinating the collection and organization of the principal's personal belongings from another residence
  • Working discreetly and respectfully when handling personal possessions
  • Coordinating donations of appropriate clothing and household items to charitable organizations
  • Developing beautifully organized and functional closets
  • Creating greater uniformity between the principal's Nashville, ranch, and Miami residences
  • Ensuring essential clothing and personal items are appropriately duplicated between homes
  • Identifying gaps within the principal's wardrobe and assisting with purchasing replacements
  • Sourcing quality everyday and casual clothing, including online purchasing
  • Understanding luxury and bespoke menswear, including custom suits, tailoring, shirts, shoes, accessories, and appropriate formal attire
  • Coordinating fittings, alterations, tailoring, shoe care, and other wardrobe services as required
  • Developing practical systems for seasonal clothing, travel wardrobes, accessories, shoes, and personal effects
  • Ensuring closets remain visually appealing, intuitive, and easy for the principal to navigate

The ideal candidate will understand that the objective is not simply to purchase clothing, but to edit and curate the principal's wardrobe so that it reflects his current lifestyle, fit, preferences, and professional needs.

HOUSEHOLD ORGANIZATION & PRESENTATION

Beyond wardrobe management, the successful candidate will take a fresh look at the residences and identify opportunities to improve organization, presentation, and functionality.

This may include:

  • Reviewing linens, bedding, bath towels, pool towels, and other soft furnishings
  • Identifying items that should be replaced, upgraded, reorganized, or replenished
  • Reviewing cabinets, closets, storage areas, and household inventories
  • Creating consistency in household essentials between residences
  • Identifying maintenance or presentation issues that may have previously gone unnoticed
  • Following through with vendors and household personnel to ensure outstanding projects are completed
  • Maintaining an exceptional eye for small details throughout the residences

For example, if a lighting fixture above the pool table requires attention, the successful candidate should be the type of individual who notices it, determines what needs to happen, coordinates the appropriate vendor, and follows the project through to completion without requiring ongoing direction.

HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT & STAFF OVERSIGHT

The position will also provide short-term management support to strengthen the overall organization of the household.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing direction, training, and support to existing housekeepers
  • Reviewing housekeeping standards and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and daily priorities
  • Establishing clear household routines and expectations
  • Creating a shared household calendar for housekeepers, service personnel, vendors, maintenance providers, and other relevant staff
  • Improving communication between multiple residences and service providers
  • Developing practical organizational systems that can remain in place following completion of the engagement
  • Ensuring projects are properly delegated and followed through to completion
  • Creating household checklists, inventories, or simple procedures where beneficial

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be self-directed, discreet, polished, resourceful, and exceptionally detail-oriented. This individual should enjoy walking into an environment, identifying what can be improved, developing a plan, and executing it.

Prior experience as a Butler, Valet, Household Manager, Estate Manager, Lifestyle Manager, or senior private-service professional would be highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will offer:

  • Strong Butler and Valet skills
  • Excellent knowledge of men's clothing, wardrobe care, and closet organization
  • Understanding of luxury, custom, and bespoke menswear
  • A refined sense of style and presentation
  • Experience sourcing both luxury and everyday clothing
  • Exceptional organizational and decluttering abilities
  • Strong household-management experience
  • Previous experience managing, scheduling, and training domestic staff
  • Excellent vendor-management and follow-through skills
  • An ability to create systems and structure without overcomplicating the household
  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent discretion and confidentiality
  • Flexibility and comfort working with a fast-paced principal
  • The ability to work independently without requiring constant direction
  • A proactive mentality and genuine enjoyment of completing projects

The household is relatively informal, so personality and approach are important. The principal is seeking someone accomplished and knowledgeable who can provide elevated service without being overly formal or rigid.

CONTRACT & COMPENSATION

This is a temporary consulting-style engagement of approximately one to two months, working approximately five days per week.

Compensation: $700–$800 per day, depending on experience
Schedule: Approximately 5 days per week
Location: Nashville, Tennessee, with responsibilities at the principal's nearby ranch and potentially other residences as required
Housing: Private accommodations provided

This could be an outstanding opportunity for an experienced private-service professional who is between long-term positions, transitioning into a new role, completing a seasonal engagement, or simply interested in a well-compensated short-term consulting assignment.

The objective is to leave the principal with a thoughtfully curated wardrobe, beautifully organized residences, improved household systems, stronger staff organization, and consistent standards that can be maintained long after the assignment is complete.
