Farm manager with hospitality experience

15 minutes from Madison and approximately 45-50 minutes from Atlanta, GA. 150-acre hunting lodge consisting of 5800 sq. ft. rustic log cabin with sleeping capacity for 16, consisting of 4 bedrooms and 1 bunkroom. Also, 2-bedroom guest cabin, staff housing, large pool, fire pit, stocked pond, and 60 acres of commercially farmed land, comprising of nut trees and seasonally grown vegetables.  

Experience working as a butler/chef would be a wonderful asset, with the ability to manage an existing team of farm staff, and source additional local part-time staff seasonally.

Our clients are already into quail season and are looking for an individual, or a couple, who can manage their hunting lodge. The current manager will onboard the new hire, ensuring her successors' transition into the role is seamless.

The candidate will report to the CFO of the principal’s company and work with the family office based out of Atlanta. The role requires a high level of detail. A candidate should have experience presenting monthly P&L reports, managing construction projects, all aspects of facilities management including the repair and maintenance of farm machinery, and scheduling meetings with a pomologist to ensure the health of the functioning tree farm. Hospitality management experience is desirable. The family understands that the parameters of the position are wide and are open to adding additional support.  

The ideal candidate should be able to set a casual table, cook a simple family-style meal, and source staff locally to serve when larger groups visit. During busier times, the family’s chef and housekeepers from their other properties will be brought on-site and available to support as needed. But, it’s up to you to co-ordinate everyone and make sure that all the logistics are in place, maintaining a five-star experience for the client’s family and friends,

  • Live-in. Must be comfortable living rurally in a beautifully appointed two-bedroom, 1-bath private cabin
  • Only highly skilled candidates with similar experience will be considered
  • Formal horticultural experience and training would be beneficial
  • During the shooting season a willingness to work occasional weekends
  • 40-60-hour week, 8 am to finish in the season with flexibility

  • Need to pass a full criminal and credit background check
  • Monthly COVID testing and staff tracing 
  • Salary range $70-$90k D/O/E
